it is your duty to study the Holy Scripture and to be ready to “give an answer” to all evil-doers who preach Gospels contrary to the one handed down to us.

I hear this repeated a lot yet one is council to study scriptures and pray so as to have the ability to know when to give an answer or to be still!
Even the Lord did not always given an answer!
BTW the only verse I found said nothing about giving an answer to “evil doers” but ready to give an answer to every man of REASON seeking hope.
1 Peter 3:15
15 But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:
Since evil doers are about snares and entrapment it would be best to be still and wait upon the Lord for guidance
Be like god and don't answer this:
