At today’s Angelus in St. Peter’s Square Francis asked faithful not to be “fooled by false messiahs” and invited them to think of their “many Christian brothers and sisters who suffer persecution because of their faith...Francis called for “discernment” and urged faithful to “understand the difference between the spirit of the Lord and the spirit of evil.” “Take heed that you not be deceived. Many will come in my name,” Francis said.

Many have indeed come. Bergoglio is #265. 266 if we count Peter.

Let us then pray for discernment for those who may not see the forest for the trees.

Are you familiar with what Christ did to insure that his Church survive before he died?

He breathed on the apostles, giving them the authority, as the first Bishops, to forgive sin and perform other sacraments.

I know that’s not how most non-Catholics look at that Scripture reading, but these Popes are apostolic descendants of Peter and of Christ .

Where do you get this misinformation?
