The Pope is for wealth redistribution?

GREAT!!!

So when is the Vatican going to start "redistributing" the roughly one-third of the world's wealth—gold, art and jewels that they have stored in their obscene coffers?

Fantastic idea, Pope-ster. You first...

Have you sold all of your valuables and given all of the money to the poor?

Also, should not the best things be reserved for God? What does Holy Scripture have to say regarding the fact that GOD wants, and deserves, the very best? (Hint: check out Exodus for starters.)

And please do not confuse what is found in the Vatican with the people who live there...or how they live...as they actually live a very moderate lifestyle. Even under Pope John II and Pope Benedict, the Papal Quarters where they actually slept were more like the typical monk’s cell. It was not lavish at all.

Got a reputable source for that particular outrageous assertion? Now, if you had said they have one third of the extant works of Italian Renaissance painters and sculptors, I might believe you.

Bill Gates could buy and sell the Vatican a couple of times over. And, on a per-capita basis, the Catholic church's wealth pales in comparison to that of the Mormons.
