Spiritual Weapons: Holy Water

In her many rituals, the Catholic Church uses elements from creation: oil, ashes, burning incense, and more. Of these elements, water is one of the most common and the most rich in symbolism. Today, I specifically want to discuss Holy Water, which is a powerful spiritual weapon for your arsenal.

The symbolic importance of water is ancient, and its ritual use can be found in the Old Testament, where it was used for purifying rites privately and liturgically. It is also a sign of God’s creative power (Genesis 1:2), a metaphor for Jehovah as the source of life spiritually (Isaiah 55:1-2), and it is used as an agent of healing (2 King’s 5:10). There are also many Old Testament types of water’s significance in the New Testament, such as Pharaoh’s army (sin) being drowned in the sea (the waters of baptism, Exodus 14:28).

Boil the hell out of it.

I prefer the Blood of the Lamb over holy water, any day. It has a lot more power to,it and is real.

The priest blesses it with a special prayer.

It’s quite potent. Each flask does 2 to 8 points of damage to any undead that it strikes.

In Dungeons & Dragons, anyway...

I agree! My grandmother, a devout Catholic, kept holy water in her house. One day she got extremely sick and she asked my mom to bring her the holy water. She drank it all. I was speechless. That night she underwent surgery for acute pancreatitis. I don’t think I was older than 13 or 14, but I remember thinking it would have been better to take her to the ER!

I believe what you "prefer" is sowing dissension under the rubric of "sharing the Gospel."

I guess God was wrong in Numbers 5:17.

Nope...only truth. Christ came so that we could be free from sin and we are supposed to depend on him. Not on anything else. It’s Christ plus nothing. No dissension intended. We are to share the Truth in love.

Nope...God was not wrong. He gave the Arc to the people and had the priests go through certain rituals, as they were not holy. Jesus Christ put an end to that, once and for all, as He paid for our sins once and for all. We are no longer bound to the Law as we have a new covenant through the blood of Jesus.

To be honest I love Holy Water.Father blesses the new house and the cars. You can sprinkle it yourself with a prayer.I once gave Holy Water to a man who had a man shot dead in his store. He took his life and before he did he shot at other people.I could see the bullet holes from the window.Holy Water is comforting. It needs to be Blessed and I think it needs Blessed salt.If my kids buy new houses are car we say a prayer, sprinkle the Holy Water and feel God’s Blessing.I have a special story about my sister who was dying and Holy Water. If one person asks me I will tell it.

" Not on Anything else. "

Huh??????

What????

FAIL!!!!!

ACTS 19:11 "God did extraordinary miracles through Paul, 12 so that even handkerchiefs and aprons that had touched him were taken to the sick, and their illnesses were cured and the evil spirits left them."

So here is Paul putting his touch on an inanimate object( CLOTH) which heals and exorcizes demons.

Hello!!!

Also can you cover the blood of Christ over yourself while sleeping. One of many reasons for blessed sacramentals.

Peace in Christ.

Paul did that not upon his own, but by the power imparted to him by the Holy Spirit. That same power can be had by all those who are truly born again. With that logic, if someone is truly posed by the Holy Spirit and the Holy Spirit imparts upon someone to use water to heal someone, I’ll concur, but only if directed by the Holy Spirit.
