Adam will be thinking “oops” soon, if not already. There comes a time when you give a good and kind old man some room for error, especially when his political experience has been narrow, compared to your own, and dangerous and corrupt.
You couldn't be more wrong. The pope's an incredibly powerful man in the world. There is absolutely no room for giving him a "pass" when he doles out terribly ignorant and misguided political statements that threaten to doom more people to poverty. If his knowledge is narrow, how can he be educated if no one tells him where he's going wrong? Shutting up and ignoring it doesn't help anybody.
I read the Fox News piece a week or two ago and it was spot on the money. Praise the writer for having the courage to speak truth to power. And shame on the church for saying the guy isn't allowed to even be a movie critic for them without sycophantically accepting everything the church's leaders say like a good little obedient sheep.
