There was obviously no "separation of church and state" when the Constitution was created and adopted, and as far as I know, no Constitutional Amendment has ever been adopted claiming that the First Amendment actually means Freedom from Religion.

Separation of Church and state is a shibboleth. Such people as Walters start out by denying public support for a particular church community and its views but end up by denying any church community the right to particulate in public affairs or even expressing its views. Like for Obama there is no freedom of religion, but only the right to worship. Something like the rights that Catholics had in 18th Century England or Protestants had in Franco’s Spain.
Incidentally, Johnson took his oath on a Catholic prayer book, which contained Scripture.

Every time i hear the word separation of Church and state it comes from some highly educated person either in the news media or in politics.
And what is even worse i have never heard of any one in their own field take them to task for it.
How much schooling does it take to be able to read the first amendment? 4th or 5th grade?
The people in the news media can get by with saying what ever they want because they are surrounded by a bunch of left wing socialists
