>> Because - back to the point<<

How is it that you seem to keep missing the point? Help me out here. I post what God says and you think that is accusing you of idolatry? Is that what you’re saying?

Again: you are not saying anyone in particular or in general is guilty of idolatry - violating the first commandment?

Are you saying now that you’re not expressing that view here or elsewhere?

Deuteronomy 4:14 Take ye therefore good heed unto yourselves; for ye saw no manner of likeness on the day that the LORD spake unto you in Horeb out of the midst of the fire: 15 so that you do not become corrupt and make for yourselves an idol, an image of any shape, whether formed like a man or a woman,

What part of “those are God’s words” do you not understand? It's best to let God speak for Himself. I always defer to God’s words. Don’t you?

Again, you are not God.

Are *you* not here expressing your view that others in particular or in general are guilty of idolatry?

I always agree with what God says. Don't you?

Am I discussing with God now?

Whose words are those? It seems those are the words you have issue with.

I believe it’s quite clear:

I have issue with the methods by which how you determine what an idol is and who is guilty of the sin of idolatry.

That’s what I’m discussing and you seem to not wish to.

Quoting God’s word’s is a “method” to you?

Again, you are not God.

The simple question here is how do *YOU* determine what is an idol and how and therefore who is guilty of the sin of idolatry. What is your method and logic for doing so.

We were doing this, on topic, for a brief while. Perhaps it became uncomfortable.

Why the obsession with what I think? I would suggest that you clear your issues with God not man. If what God said is problematic for you perhaps you should look to Him for answers instead of man. If you simply need justification for your actions rather than what God says perhaps the RCC is the best resource for you.

Because, again: before we decide someone is guilty of idolatry we should be very clear on precisely how we determine that.

Posting Holy Scripture does not absolve or relieve us of how we apply it rightly or wrongly. Particularly when it involves accusing another of violating the First Commandment.

Before we do this, we should be clear in how we distinguish an idol - what is and what isn’t and why.

Your discussion here indicates you are quite uncomfortable in doing so.

I would suggest that, if so, one should also be uncomfortable accusing another of violating the First Commandment.

Would you please point out the post in this thread where I said someone was guilty of idolatry please?

Please show the post in this thread where I said how I apply it rightly or wrongly.

>> I would suggest that, if so, one should also be uncomfortable accusing another of violating the First Commandment.<<

Once again, please show in which post I accused anyone of violating the first commandment.

If you knew the bible, you'd know the danger is in doing something that others may interpret as unGodly...

like divorce and remarry for example....
