I do adhere to the double standard and do so proudly. The sexual attraction between men and women is natural and is to be presumed. That between those of same sex is unnatural and rare. Without other evidence there is no reason to assume it. This foolishness of ignoring the natural differences between the sexes (Yes, sexes, not genders. Words have a gender, people have a sex!) and of attempting to build and androgynous society needs to end.
Her husband died from OD not too long after she moved in. It was getting really bad, and when she finally cut him off financially, he went on a series of benders until he was just found dead.
I don’t recall when we first made love, but it was after he was dead.
So true. I remember a Jesuit retreat master saying “Sex isn’t something; it’s someone.
The essence of Marriage in other words.
Pass it by then.
So were you aware that you were causing her to be unfaithful and adulterous, even though her husband was a drinker/druggie?
We had mutual friends who told me about what was going on in her life. She and I worked for the same company but in different departments. I’d worked with her on projects internally and spoke to her about what was going on in her life when he husband showed up at the office one day and made a scene.
She was legitimately afraid for her safety after one of her husband’s “friends” showed up demanding money from her. She moved in with me after I offered her a place to stay until things settled down. It turned into a long-term situation, as I had a spare bedroom, and after he passed, I told her she was welcome to stay as long as she needed to get her life back in order. Over time and many evenings talking into the night, our relationship blossomed, and we wound up vacationing together, commuting to work together, etc.
I don’t believe I caused her to be unfaithful. He was dead just a few months after she moved in.
And allow the deceit of Catholicism to stand unchallenged? Not a chance.
Your hatred is showing, and it ain’t pretty.
What teaching IN THIS THREAD is contrary to the word of God?
Are you saying that contraception (most of which are abortificients) is OK, or that cohabitation is OK?
What exactly IN THIS THREAD is wrong?
(I’m seriously asking. Did I miss something in the discussion?
As to my background, I’m Pentecostal)
I was actually addressing the incessant attention Catholics give to sex and inserting thoughts into scripture that simply are not there. Then also the judgmental attitude that a male and female living in the same abode are automatically accused of wrongdoing. It was more addressing an attitude and spirit of condemnation that Catholics consistently rail on non Catholics about then it was any specific post.
But your posts do not address any of that.
Perhaps if you word your initial entry into these sorts of threads more carefully you’ll not come across as merely here to bash Catholics.
(Although an unrelated couple cohabitating is giving the appearance of evil. (not to mention placing themselves into temptation) They should not do it.)
Or knee jerk assumptions are made on the part of the reader.
