That’s the best, most uncompromising thing I’ve read/heard on this topic from any media figure in a long time, from a Christian viewpoint, and I totally agree.

Yes. Even more socially moderate “conservatives” (how is someone a conservative and also a social “moderate”? That just makes them a “moderate”, doesn’t it?) use certain topics as a shield and a weapon, beating other conservatives over the head with it so they won’t look as “bad” by comparison. Gotta keep that social cred.
