The Deity of Jesus is proclaimed throughout scripture

Can you post those scriptures please?

We must reconcile these two scriptures, somehow...

Philippians 2:9 Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name,
10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth,
11 and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

and

Isaiah 45:22 Turn to me and be saved, all you ends of the earth; for I am God, and there is no other. 23
By myself I have sworn, my mouth has uttered in all integrity a word that will not be revoked: Before me every knee will bow; by me every tongue will swear.

So, what exactly is the name of the LORD?

Romans 10:9 If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.
11 As Scripture says, “Anyone who believes in him will never be put to shame.”
12 For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile—the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on him,
13 for, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”

The only way to be able to confes Jesus is Lord...

1 Corinthians 12:3 Therefore I want you to know that no one who is speaking by the Spirit of God says, "Jesus be cursed," and no one can say, "Jesus is Lord," except by the Holy Spirit.

That is correct, and Christians of today have used systematics and untrue translations to make him a God, when truly there is only one God, his father...whom he obviously stated was the one in charge and to whom he did the will of.

This has to cause some question in your mind?

John 14:6 Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
7 If you really know me, you will know my Father as well. From now on, you do know him and have seen him.”
8 Philip said, “Lord, show us the Father and that will be enough for us.”
9 Jesus answered: “Don’t you know me, Philip, even after I have been among you such a long time? Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father. How can you say, ‘Show us the Father’?
10 Don’t you believe that I am in the Father, and that the Father is in me? The words I say to you I do not speak on my own authority. Rather, it is the Father, living in me, who is doing his work.
11 Believe me when I say that I am in the Father and the Father is in me; or at least believe on the evidence of the works themselves.

There is a present day apostasy that denies the very obvious and only the most gullible of Christians are willing to fall for it. Very sad.

And the gullible women worshipped Jesus after his resurrection; reckon why he did not stop them?

Matthew 28:8 So the women hurried away from the tomb, afraid yet filled with joy, and ran to tell his disciples.
9 Suddenly Jesus met them. “Greetings,” he said. They came to him, clasped his feet and worshiped him.
10 Then Jesus said to them, “Do not be afraid. Go and tell my brothers to go to Galilee; there they will see me.”

especially in light of his rebuke of Satan:

Matthew 4:10 Jesus said to him, “Away from me, Satan! For it is written: ‘Worship the Lord your God, and serve him only.’ ” (Deut 6:13)

“Do you question the Deity of Jesus?”

Douglas is a member of the UCG, which denies the Trinity and believes in an “open” Godhead. They believe that Christians join into the “God Family.” They also deny that the Holy Spirit is a person, but claim the Spirit is a “force” which their church has the power to transfer by the laying on of hands.

Hmm... I guess they missed the scripture where Jesus said “Apart from me you can do nothing.”

So they deny the Son, and treat the Holy Spirit like an exploitable “force” from Star Wars.... wonderful.

Thanks for the heads up.

I once thought as you do. However, the overwhelming evidence of the NT scripture proves otherwise. Here is a scripture that really got me to thinking...:

Revelation 1:8 “I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty.”"

then a few chapters later...

Revelation 22:12 “Look, I am coming soon! My reward is with me, and I will give to each person according to what they have done.
13 I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End.
14 “Blessed are those who wash their robes, that they may have the right to the tree of life and may go through the gates into the city.
15 Outside are the dogs, those who practice magic arts, the sexually immoral, the murderers, the idolaters and everyone who loves and practices falsehood.
16 “I, Jesus, have sent my angel to give you this testimony for the churches. I am the Root and the Offspring of David, and the bright Morning Star.”

So, who is the "Alpha and the Omega"? The Lord God Almighty, or Jesus?

Look..the whole of the texts about Jesus makes it clear that he did nothing of his own will..he prayed to the father. I think people are willfully blind to this so that they can diminish in a weak way, the power of us being able to follow Jesus’s example of forgiveness and non judgment. After all, if he was God, obviously we cannot do it as be did!

The blinders are on you, actually. That Christ is equal to God but “made Himself no reputation,” and submitted in all things to the Father, does not take away from His deity which is clearly expressed. Nor does the Father “delivering all things” into the hands of the Son take away from the deity of the Father.

Luk 8:39 "Return to your home, and declare how much God has done for you." And he went away, proclaiming throughout the whole city how much Jesus had done for him.

Seems pretty clear to me.

After all, if he was God, obviously we cannot do it as be did! (sic)

Regardless, using this logic, since Jesus was sinless (Hebrews 4:25, 2 Corinthinas 5:21, et al) we cannot truly follow his example anyway. It is interesting to notes, however, that where we are told to follow Christs example is the clearest testimony to his Divinity!

Phillipans 2:5 In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus:
6Who, being in very naturea God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage;
7rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very natureb of a servant, being made in human likeness.
8And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death— even death on a cross!
9Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name,
10that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth,
11and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Jesus said...”I am that I am” a direct reference to the God of Moses at the burning bush.... He proved it by an empty grave... Can you disprove he isn’t God...?

No and I have no desire to since scripture clearly indicates that Jesus Christ was and is God.

the power of us being able to follow Jesus’s example of forgiveness and non judgment

This brings another interesting misunderstanding about Christianity, Jesus did not come into the world to be our example! He is not Budda or Confuscious. Rather, as Paul says,

1 Timothy 1:15 Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners--of whom I am the worst.

Or better yet, the words of Jesus himself:

Luke 19:10 For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.

Really? You're following me around? This article is from a website not related to UCG at all that reflects my love and reverence toward Christ. One in which I'm promoting Christ as the God almighty. And you've got nothing better to do then to tear me down and insinuate that I don't love my Lord?

I'm asking you once again to stop and consider the attitude you're displaying to those outside the faith.
