I don’t understand how the LDS can go through the effort of reading the Bible, point out the warnings about false prophets and teachers but yet go on to promote Mormonism?

You’d think some of them might put two and two together? Connect the dots, etc... Maybe some of apostle’s warnings might have sunk in?!?

A lot of it comes down to culture.

You trust your family. You trust your friends, your peers. You don't think they would either be led so far astray -- and worse, you don't they would lead others astray.

Beyond that, the Mormon church overwhelms its membership with activities, temple rituals, genealogical research, rotating two-year emergency preparedness resources, studies of four books they call "scriptures" -- three which compete with the Bible, and then there's annual curricula studies which reinforces it all along with the rest of their media

And often that's on top of raising families -- often larger families than what we see in the rest of America today.

I mean, Mormonism's legalism alone is a killer time-wise invested in people's lives:

Here's two ex-Mormons who point that out; disclaimer on the second one is that a lot of OTHER stuff he/she writes about is nothing I'd recommend:

* Mormon Rules: The List further explained (by former 5th generation Mormon - 'In My Other Life was a Mormon - Been There, Done That. Wore a White Shirt and Tie)
* Mormon411: The 101 Mormon Commandments (this Mormon has become an atheist)

Counterfeit Christianity tends to turn many away from anything "Christian" because they toss it all out.

Bottom line, Salt Lake City HQ in the Mormon church has been one of the biggest "Thou shalt" and "Thou shalt not" factories in existence.

The ungodly side of man for some reason take delight in trashing another by distorting, and spinning, take things out of context, and before anyone knows, it has become what of many become to believes, and no matter how much one tries the water has been poison.

Sometimes I wonder if any among us have been given the commission which Joseph Smith and had to endure, how many think they would have come through this like a perfect being.

We always set up these bigger than life ideal and if someone does not meet those man made ideals he scorch earth!

Many even try to make the Lord's scriptures to agree with their wicked behavior.

Thank God the Lord was willing take an imperfect flawed being, who is willing to try to learn and understand the ways of the Creator. While others around him is scoffing, mocking and jeering and some have gotten physical, with tar and feather also tried to force Joseph to take poison, on and on until the Lord's prophet was killed etc. Sounds like a life of fun!

Many are still cheering today you can read it on many of these threads! even Jesus would not condone such behavior towards another of his creation.

Some things Jesus told his followers

1. Romans 12

19 Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.

20 Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head.

21 Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.

2.John 13

34 A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.

35 By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.

3- Gal 5

13 For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another.

14 For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

15 But if ye bite and devour one another, take heed that ye be not consumed one of another.

16 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.

17 For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.

16 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.

17 For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.

18 But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law.

19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,

20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,

21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,

23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

24 And they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.

25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.

26 Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another.

I will try to answer your question why, because this is what we believe and have been trying to get out this message all during the times we are being malign and trashing to share these things even if one fine it hard with the LDS at least they know this knowledge it vital to know.

It was never met to offend only for sharing the message.

I say these things in Jesus Christ name, amen.

If I were quote from the Book of Mormon that completes many of the passages that scribe or editor left out, some could have a melt down, and others would shout for Joy!

The Bible and the Book of Mormon ARE ONE, The Book of Mormon is the descendants of Joseph of Egypt through the tribes of Ephraim and Manasseh and the Book of Mormon is another witness for Jesus Christ.

Many have already received their Patriarch Blessings through the promise of the Abraham covenant Gal 3 God gave the gospel to Abraham-The Mosaic law was added because of transgressions-The law was a schoolmaster until Christ-The Saints are children of God by faith-All who are of the faith and baptized into Christ become Abraham's seed.

Ezekiel 37

15 ¶The word of the Lord came again unto me, saying,

16 Moreover, thou son of man, take thee one stick, and write upon it, For Judah, and for the children of Israel his companions: then take another stick, and write upon it, For Joseph, the stick of Ephraim, and for all the house of Israel his companions:

17 And join them one to another into one stick; and they shall become ONE in thine hand.

Rev. 14 The gospel will be restored in the last days by angelic ministry

6 And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people,

7 Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters.

Ezekiel 37 The stick of Judah (the Bible) and the stick of Joseph (the Book of Mormon) will become one in the Lord's hand-The children of Israel will be gathered and cleansed-David (the Messiah) will reign over them-They will receive the everlasting gospel covenant.

16 Moreover, thou son of man, take thee one stick, and write upon it, For Judah, and for the children of Israel his companions: then take another stick, and write upon it, For Joseph, the stick of Ephraim, and for all the house of Israel his companions:

This I Boldly Testify in the Name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
