What the Defenestration of Brendan Eich Portends

Mozilla has now made its employment policy clear.

No Catholics need apply.

Or Evangelical Christians.

Or Eastern Orthodox.

Or Orthodox Jews.

Or Mormons.

Or Muslims.

Unless, that is, you are the "right kind" of Catholic, Evangelical, Eastern Orthodox Christian, observant Jew, Mormon, or Muslim, namely, the kind who believes your religious or philosophical tradition is wrong about the nature of marriage as the conjugal union of husband and wife, and the view now dominant among secular elites is correct. In that case, Mozilla will consider you morally worthy to work for them. Or maybe you can work for them even if you do happen to believe (or should I say "believe") your faith's teaching---so long as you keep your mouth shut about it: "Don't ask, don't tell."

You are disqualified from employment, however, if you reveal your alleged "bigotry" and "cause pain" by stating your convictions. And you are certainly disqualified if you do anything to advance the historic understanding of marriage as a conjugal union in the public square. You see, that's what Mozilla CEO Brendan Eich was discovered to have done---he made a contribution of $1000 to the successful effort to defend marriage in California in 2008. Like the majority of California voters, he thought it best for the state to retain its conjugal marriage law. Recently that historical fact came to light. And in less than a week Eich was gone.

Who in Obama’s IRS hit squad illegally leaked the donor list for H H 8 to the Gaystapo in CA? Someone should go to jail for that.

It’s Job Discrimination; I’ve been near that and it is an injustice of the kind that appalls and upsets me.

Who would want to work in such a company. It’s time conservative corporations begin FIRING these little trolls as revenge. If you run a business and employ a lib, fire them.

For better or worse it's part of California law that any campaign contribution above some absurdly small amount has to be available to the public.

This is supposed to minimize the chance of people buying elections. Instead it has been used by the Gaystopo to attack all sorts of people including a waitress who gave the widow's mite to Prop 8. The Gaystopo found out and picketed the restaurant where she worked hoping to get her fired.

Brilliant new logo 😅! I gave up on Firefox quite a while ago ... seemed like every "improvement" made it worse! Just one more reason why I am seriously considering emigrating to Finland ... America is finished ... I think the cancer of demented, progressive thought has metasticised into the very marrow of the country!

Eich didn’t donate directly to any campaign. He made a donation to National Organization for Marriage, in support of their efforts regarding Prop 8. So far as I know, that kind of donation is not public, since it was to an organization, not a public political campaign.

Considering Eich ‘invented’ javascript - which every website and browser uses - it will be comforting to know that if they really want to boycott Eich, they will have to quit using every browser and just stay off the internet.
