As he helped the priest onto the Popemobile, Francis told Baez, "The picture will go around the world, CNS reports.
So who's the photo-hound here, Pax?
So who’s the photo-hound here, Pax?
If you’ve read any of the articles about this you know that he was laughing and having fun seeing an old friend when it happened.
“Photo-hound”?
I don’t see one.
Did you not read the caption?
Yes, I read the caption.
And I responded.
Did you not read the story so as to know the context?
He saw in the crowd a priest he’d ordained and who he considers a friend. Instead of waiting until later and doing who knows what all to locate the priest and invite him for a visit, he invites him then to accompany him on the popemobile. As he embraced the priest-friend in greeting he was laughing and having fun, and he said, “You know, this photo will make it around the world!” (Or something very close to that.)
Is Francis supposed to play stupid and pretend he doesn’t know that photos of the pope, especially unusual ones, are seen worldwide? Of course not, not to mention that pretending so would be dishonest.
He was laughing when he said it. A moment of joy - he loves being out with people - and he was simply commenting on it to his friend.
Do you think that Francis saw his friend and thought, “Oh boy! If I invite him onto the popemobile, people all over the world will see a picture of me!”
I doubt it.
Don’t you, ebb tide, ever laugh? Do you ever make funny observations and enjoy them with a friend?
If you want to criticize Pope Francis, you have every right to do so. I just think this particular criticism is a long shot.
Pretending is dishonest, you say? Why it was Pope Francis who said Jesus was pretending to be angry at the money changers in the temple.
Do you believe Jesus Christ is dishonest?
Thanks.
That’s not unexpected - your changing the subject.
If you don’t answer questions and stay on subject, I’m simply not going to discuss this with you.
I stand by my conclusion that this particular action by Pope Francis doesn’t deserve the criticism you are giving it.
Actually, I think it was pretty cool.
:-)
Your questions are stupid. Like “do you laugh”? They don’t deserve an answer and I’m glad you’ve decided to bow out.
Actually, ebb, I didn’t bow out. I said I would if you didn’t answer my questions and stay on subject.
Also, the fact that you say my questions are “stupid” makes me think that you’re glad I am going to bow out.
Bye!
