Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem
The Trees of The Bible
Psalm 137
Willow Tree
New International Version (NIV)
1. By the rivers of Babylon,
here we sat down and wept,
When we remembered Zion.
2. Upon the willows in the midst of it We hung our harps.
3. For there our captors demanded of us songs,
And our tormentors mirth, saying,
Sing us one of the songs of Zion.
4. How can we sing the LORDS song In a foreign land?
5 If I forget you, O Jerusalem,
May my right hand forget her skill.
6 May my tongue cling to the roof of my mouth If I do not remember you,
If I do not exalt Jerusalem Above my chief joy....

Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem
Because of this Psalm (and perhaps because of the fact that Willows look as though they are "weeping"), the Willow has become a symbol for mourning. This is especially true of funerary art of the Victorian period. It was, of course, not the Willow's fault that the Israelites were carried off to Babylon, but this lovely tree has come to be known as a "Weeping Willow" in our own language. Rather than being seen as a a tree of death and despair, however, it might symbolize godly tears of repentance and longing for our REAL Home.
Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.
Blessings To All Who Visit This Garden of Prayer.
Hallelujah and Amen

The works of God are all around us wherever we are. Look at a acorn, from which ... with water and dirt, a mighty Oak grows. Where does it come from? The acorn is small, there is no huge hole in the ground where the tree absorbed its substance. Some are huge and about 100 years old! Where did it come from?
It is one of the multitude of miracles to which we are so accustomed as to not notice the wonder of it. A baby grows from a tiny cell and sperm. WOW! A miracle process, the complexity of our eyes, our digestive system, our circulatory system, ... we see, we hear, we taste, we touch, we think, and we speak, express, fingers and toes, with nails, We remember, learn, express, ... wonder upon wonder and we mostly fail to notice. Alas we fail to appreciate, and be thankful for our very life. The universe.
We pray for the peace of Israel, Jerusalem, and blessings be upon all seeking to know The LORD: the captives, the lost, the persecuted believers,
Thank God for His mercy, grace, love, forgiveness, righteousness, the Scriptures, the Commandments telling us how to live a life pleasing before God.
Forgive us LORD we know not what we do. We pray for forgiveness of our sins, in Jesus name. We praise, honor and adore Thee. Amen. Amen.
