Wait, where in the Bible does it say to confess sins to another human being instead of God himself? Where also does it say anything about a pope and anything about papal infallibility?

More people go to NFL games on Sunday, during the season, than the average national total attendance at the episcopal church.

This is actually a clarifying moment.

Jesus, he added, “had nothing to say about gay marriage”

True. But then, He had nothing to say about the "Bride of the Burro" act in Tijuana, either.

They’re also evolving into irrelevancy

“Evolved”? No. “Fallen away”? Yes.

Sounds like the CofE and Wales, and Episcopalians want to “evolve” beyond the whole ‘Anglican’ thing. Probably ‘evolve’ beyond the whole ‘God thing’.

“Because religion isn’t fun if you have to obey rules”, they whine.

Archbishop of Wales: We ‘have evolved’ from the Bible’s teaching on divorce, why not gay ‘marriage’?

Something else Kasper and Francis can emulate, in the name of "ecumenism"!

The Anglicans have been destroying Christianity ever since Henry VIII. Henry could not get an annulment so started a Church based on private opinion rather than one with an infallible teaching authority commissioned to accurately the Gospels. Geeez.

This man is a disgusting wretch. How dare he make this statement.

“That burns itself into your soul, as does the suffering of gay people in this country.”

He is comparing African Christians being MURDERED to... what exactly? What suffering to homos endure in these societies where they are allowed to be as perverse as they like and silence all opposition? He’s a total disgrace. No sane African would be a member of such a misguided, heretical church.

God will sort him out.

he should have worded it differently: we always were for divorce of man and woman and enslaving homosexual relationships without resort to divorce.

Man and woman marriage is slavery but gay marriage is love and their divorce is hate.

These people are indeed hypocrite wretches.

Whenever I hear this sort of nonsense from an Anglican clergyman or woman, I think of C. S. Lewis's "Screwtape Letters".

Oh, how the Devil must love those modern sensibilities!

His first sentence says it all, “The Anglican Church’s “views have evolved and changed” on the nature of marriage “a subject which Jesus pronounced very clearly,” the head of the Anglican Church in Wales said this week; therefore, it can also change its teaching on homosexuality.”

Right, archbishop, Jesus was quite clear in his pronouncements to his Jewish audience in advising them that from the very beginning it was to be one marriage with no divorce.

So now, even after you have confirmed what Jesus said, you have the nerve to say that YOU can do whatever you want to change the teaching of Jesus. No wonder your Anglican church is crumbling at its foundations.

The apostle Paul: (paraphrased) Though it be we or an angel from heaven preach any other gospel than what we have preached, let him be accursed.

I will stay with apostle Paul’s teaching. Thank you very much.

True, but the rapidly evolving Anglican Archbishop of Wales also sees no problems with burro-marriages, and has been quietly extolling the virtues of divorce to that bride you mentioned, as the Anglican Archbishop of Wales has had his own evolving matrimonially-minded eye on that same burro for some time now...

All the other brands of Christianity as heretical beliefs as does 35, 000 of them that spring up like wild mushrooms that later wither and die.

As a Protestant with a doctorate in theology from a Jesuit university, I have a great deal of respect for your point of view. However, you do yourself no favor by lumping together the likes of Jeremiah Wright, Mormons, and Scientologists with an almost universally revered figure such as Billy Graham.

Unlike Jimmy Swaggart and his ilk, there was never a hint of scandal surrounding Graham, who lived a modest lifestyle and was responsible for leading many to Christ over a long and honorable career as an evangelist.

You might be interested to learn that Billy Graham reached out to the Catholic Churches in the cities where he held his crusades, and was roundly criticized by strict fundamentalists for having Catholic priests on his platform along with ministers of other denominations.

I believe that the Catholic understanding of "separated brethren" is more charitable than you allow. Many Protestants have been drawn to the current Pope, who reaches out not in a self-assured spirit of superiority, but of humility.
