Cambridge, Mass., May 12, 2014 / 06:05 pm (CNA/EWTN News).- A satanic black mass re-enactment being planned by a student group at Harvard University has been ‘postponed indefinitely’ and will not take place May 12.
The news was announced by the school’s newspaper, The Harvard Crimson, just over an hour before the event was scheduled to occur May 12.
Originally, the black mass re-enactment was to take place on campus, at a pub in the basement of Memorial Hall. The Harvard Crimson reported late on the afternoon of May 12 that the event had voluntarily been moved to The Middle East nightclub, a short distance from campus. However, shortly afterward, the general manager of the nightclub told the publication that negotiations had fallen through and the event would not be hosted there.
Subsequently, in a breaking news update at 7:45 p.m. Eastern time, the publication reported that the black mass “has been postponed indefinitely and will not take place tonight, according to (a) Satanic Temple spokesperson.”
Connected to witchcraft and demonic worship, a black mass is a sacrilegious ceremony structured as a parody of the Catholic Mass. Invoking Satan, the ritual is centered around the desecration of the Eucharist, which is generally done by stealing a consecrated host from a Catholic church and using it in a profane sexual ritual, or defecating and urinating on it.

Let me break it down for the idiots who want to worship Satan either as a Satanist or a Muslim:
Jesus is good, loves, truthful, faithful, loyal, responsible, trustworthy, dependable, etc...
Satan is bad, hates, lies, unfaithful, a betrayer, irresponsible, cannot be trusted, undependable, etc..
Which one would rather have as a friend? Really?

Something happened to make this student group drop the Black Mass. The Harvard Pres. was not going to stop it as late as this afternoon. Maybe their. scholarships were about to be revoked. We may never know.
Could it be that enough Harvard alumni threatened to withhold contributions to their Alma Mater?
In another vein....The latest USSC "prayer" case was specific to "Thou shall not defame(for want of a better term) other religions.
Now...How this would be classified as Freedom of Speech....Fine...Go home and have it at your mom's house....but not on campus.
Maybe Muslims went into a huge snit and threatened physical retaliation against faculty if the Black Mass was carried out.
This is the Harvard Extension School. It's not the pedigree Undergraduate or Graduate programs. The Harvard Extension school is open to the public at large. One commutes to the school mostly at night. It's for those who want to take a few courses to sharpen their skills. For instance, you might work on getting a certificate in computer programing with out the effort to achieve a bachelor or masters degree. Many of the courses are taught by professors from neighboring colleges. The Harvard elite don't pay too much attention. It's there as a revenue source.
