Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem
Forty Years in the Desert had just passed. The Generation that had crossed the Red Sea was gone, and Moses had died. Now the Promised Land Opened up before the People, but it was in Flood Stage and was a barrier to them.
Although this looked a lot like the Red Sea Miracle, it was symbolically different. At the Red Sea, the People were FLEEING. They did not have the Law or the Ark of the Covenant, and so God Used The Staff of Moses to open the Sea.
At the Jordan, God commanded that the Levites carry the Ark, and actually step INTO the water, holding the Ark aloft as the People passed through. This would seem to indicate that they were now a People, a Nation, and a Community UNDER THE LAW, which would not only govern but protect them. And now, they were not "fleeing", but "Entering In".
Come and Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.
Blessings To All Who Visit This Garden of Prayer.
Hallelujah and Amen
