Any of the Calvary Chapels, especially an up-and-coming one. These guys teach the Bible, verse-by-verse, and are heavily into discernment of all the weird winds of doctrine we are seeing nowadays. Solid. And I am not even Calvary Chapel myself; I just admire their pace.

When in doubt, go to the nearest Calvary Chapel. Solid bible teaching, committed Christians and none of that liberal feel good doctrine.

It’s always a good place to start. And if you like it, it is always a good place to put down roots.

i’m glad your son is looking for a church that preaches the bible. too often there are people who attend mega churches just for the fun activities and social events.

Peace Lutheran or Apostles Lutheran. WELS affiliated-I joined a local WELS church about two years ago. Best discovery of my life. Uncompromisingly Bible based!

Gateway Church is pretty good if you're looking for a pretty solid spirit-filled, full gospel church. A lot of happy people go there.

Martin can put this out to the Silicon Valley Ping List. You’ll find lots of FRiend recommendations from that group.

well brother, since you ask...in the heart of san jose, you won’t find a more humble, self built church than ours:

Samoan Community Church

San Jose, CA
Pastor Darcy Faiaipau
SCAOGSecretary@gmail.com
(408)-289-9300

warning: it’s not that easy to find.

South Bay Church is a biblical, mission-focused church in San Jose. It’s 5 years old, and they recently started another campus in Sunnyvale. Congregation is very strong in your son’s age demographic, though all ages attend.

As long as he’s living in St. Joseph ( San Jose ) he might as well go to St. Joseph. For Bible believing Christians you won’t find better.

I hope he realizes how expensive it is to live in San Jose, and that are major parts of the city you really don't want to break down in . . .

But I love young people striking out in the world with no fear, and the intention of hard work. Awesome. Good luck to him.
