Without wishing to be too 'preachy' or overly deep for a forum thread ... I'm prompted to share my reflection on the 'why':

She heard the Lord, her God, say to her soul ... 'I am your salvation.' Her soul responded to God's call ... with total abandonment to herself ... her gift to God was to give His gift to her totally to Him. Totus Tuus.
