June 18,2014 - Joey Lomangino 53 years ago today, St. Michael the Arch Angel appeared in Garabandal. Today unfortunately, this is not as happy an occasion. It is with a broken heart, and the immense sadness that I regretfully announce the passing away of Joey Lomangino. I have confirmed this story with family, friends and Conchita. As I am still in shock, I will have nothing more to say at this time, other than referring to a prophecy and the bible. On December 6, 1962,Conchi...ta had a 90 minute ecstasy around 5:30 in the afternoon after which, she provided two more pieces of information regarding the Miracle: 1) One day, before the Miracle, something will happen that will cause many people to stop believing in the apparitions of Garabandal. The doubts and desertions will not be due to an excessive delay of the Miracle. I cannot answer if Joey had the same experience of seeing the Miracle as Padre Pio did, just prior to his death, or with his new heavenly eyes, only God knows. I thank God for the priviledge of knowing Joey,and working side by side with him.I still believe in the prophecies of the Warning, Miracle,and Chastisement. I ask you all to pray for Joey. "For My thoughts are not your thoughts nor your ways My ways. For as the heavens are exalted above the earth, so are My ways exalted above your ways, and My thoughts above your thoughts." (Is. 55: 8-9)

Divine or not, prophecy or guesswork, who can deny that such things have been borne out as true?
The Garabandal Prophecies predicted four supernatural events:
A worldwide warning to be experienced by everyone on earth. Its purpose would be to call humanity to amend its behavior and return to God.
A great miracle that will occur in the late winter or early spring within one year after the warning.
A Permanent sign that will remain for all time at a pine grove near Garabandal.
A terrible chastisement or punishment that is conditional to some extent, based upon how well mankind heeds the messages of Garabandal.
Mary Loli was the only seer, who knew the year of the warning. However, it is Conchita, one of the other visionaries, who knows the nature of the great miracle as well as the exact date – and she has been charged with announcing this to the world eight days before it happens.
The “miracle,” it was claimed, would occur within a year of the “warning”.

would know that Joey Lomangino became intertwined with the story of the coming “Miracle” where Conchita(the main visionary of 3 girls) told Joey(blind man) that his eyesight would be restored at the future public Miracle site as told to her by the Blessed Virgin Mary. Since he has died today that kind of collapses the validity of the Garabandal apparitions.
The Church has 3 declarations or options when judging apparitions:
1) Supernatural occurence (approved)
2) nothing supernatural in evidence(nothing special:could change)
3) has elements against the faith(condemned)
Garabandal although it had many events occur during the apparitions that seemed supernatural. Those events were deemed as things that devils(former angels) had the power to do. Supernatural goes beyond mere parlor tricks performed by evil spirit beings.

I’m doing The Camino Santiago next year. Looming forward to seeing the saints at various points, learning more about Catholicism, my faith, myself and maybe come a closer to God.
