I’m not SBC but from what I understand, all churches are independent, but to belong to the convention, they have to share some fundamental beliefs based on taking God at His Word in the Bible. Churches that turn aside from that have been and should be expelled. The SBC met recently and did nothing on this church, and in fact passed the buck to possibly the state part of the SBC and tabled a motion on it.
Southern Baptists remain resolute in our stance on homosexuality. Rome hid pedophile priests for years but no sane person believes she is actually pro-pedophila. Likewise the SBC isn’t softening on sodomy. The situation with the renegade congregation will be handled in due time. Just because you don’t understand how we operate you must not leap to conclusions and pretend there was some sort of moral failing at the annual convention.
A little leaven, leavens the entire loaf.
And with this Homo agenda - everything we are seeing was already illustrated for us as to what will happen when wickedness is not put in check back in Genesis 19.
