Assembly I find less important than the Commandments, but that’s just me. Yes I do sometimes feel it would be nice to hang out with other believers, but not enough to do it.
Mostly because I can read for myself what the Word says and don’t need an interpreter. Do you need a politician to tell you what the Constitution says or means? I would rather read and interpret it myself.
I don’t condemn whatever your practices are. You do your thing your way and I’ll do my thing my way.
But some seem to have prevailed against it in their own hearts, by their rejection and/or neglect. To their detriment, I think.
"Keep watch over yourselves and over all the flock, of which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to shepherd the church of God that he obtained with the blood of his own Son." (Acts 20:28)
So the Church was obtained by the blood of Christ, and the Holy Spirit has provided overseers; but some do not think they need an overseer!
St. Paul says "God has appointed in the church first apostles, second prophets, third teachers; then deeds of power, then gifts of healing, forms of assistance, forms of leadership, various kinds of tongues.(1 Corinthians 12:28)
So God has appointed teachers, but some do not think they need to be taught!
How much wiser than Christ they must think themselves to be!
St. Paul says the church is the Body of Christ. But I've met some in my travels, who claim to love Jesus but don't care for the Body of Christ; indeed, they tear the Body of Christ apart.
