You have bought into some nonsensical screed. Nothing could be farther from the truth. Throughout its history, the Catholic Church has ministered to the downtrodden. During WWII, catholics housed Jews, providing them with false documents like baptismal certificates. This was corroborated by a Jewish co worker whose family hid her in a convent. She described the loving care she received from the nuns who also ensured she received education in her Jewish faith. At no time did anyone ever suggest she convert.
Not far from me is a home run by the Little Sisters of the Poor. They provide living arrangements for the poorest of the poor, regardless of their faith.
Despite what many of you think you know. The Catholic Church educates a ton of kids in inner cities that are not Catholic. A lot of these parish schools have more kids who not Catholic in them then are Catholic. Catholic hospitals serve all, rich and poor. Catholic or not no strings attached.
Also btw in many of the past humanitarian crisis that have occurred the Catholic Church has worked with many other religious organizations to help people of all faiths. The St. Vincent DePaul society and every parish has a committee, will help anyone who can demonstrate need. Anyone! Pretty tired of the bashing and snide remarks.
Your statement doesn’t negate RFEngineer’s “nonsensical screed”. In fact it seems that your statement even supports the idea of just bring in and housing illegals under the doors of the Catholic Church. The Vatican has been very supportive of illegal immigration. Sorry but RFEngineer is right.
Catholics can remember that when they dance with the devil they’re going to get burned.
“Throughout its history, the Catholic Church has ministered to the downtrodden”
I find it very hard to believe that the Catholic Church would support children leaving their parents and making a trek to a foreign land.
The Catholic Church is very strong in the “source” countries for these illegal immigrants. They could, if they wanted, minister to and support these children in their host countries.
This has nothing to do with religion. It has to do with politics and bureaucracy expansion. It has to do with power and control.
In this case Obama and the Catholic bureaucracy are allies. Both want to bring America down a peg or two or ten.
It’s wrong, and I suspect most faithful American Catholics agree with me.
