No, you're not confused. This is exactly what he's saying. But it is wrong and it isn't Catholic. This is an example of the heretical belief that came straight from Vatican II. It is the New Religion....which isn't Catholic at all.
What he is trying to say that though some are Roman Catholic, we’re all catholic, and the Holy Spirit guides us all.
