Unfreeing Massachusetts Sidewalks

Massachusetts demonstrated its abortion radicalism today as Governor Deval Patrick signed a new buffer-zone law under the guise of protecting public safety. In doing so, he makes the state less safe for the unborn and less free for the mother who feels pressure from the culture and due to her circumstances to abort her child.

The state’s previous 35-foot buffer-zone law was struck down unanimously by the Supreme Court earlier this summer. In a statement, one of the legal counsels for the lead plaintiff, Eleanor McCullen, calls the new 25-foot buffer-zone law “a backdoor attempt to interfere with the constitutional right of free speech in the service of women seeking abortion whose minds are not made up — women who are looking for the hope, help, love, and concrete aid offered by Eleanor McCullen and other peaceful sidewalk counselors. This new law chills life-saving speech by threatening massive civil fines for non-violent acts such as peacefully offering a leaflet of information to passersby on a public sidewalk.”

Cardinal O’Malley: housing illegals more important than protecting unborn

Cardinal Sean O’Malley appeared with liberal Democratic Gov. Deval Patrick on Friday to voice support for Patrick’s proposal to house illegal immigrants and offer Catholic social service assistance for illegals, while the Cardinal said nothing all week about a heinous law advancing in the Mass legislature to penalize those who try to prevent women from aborting their children. In our opinion, the Cardinal is yet more clearly showing his stripes as being a tool of the liberal Democratic pro-abortion establishment, and a hypocrite when it comes to protection of life.

So is the constitutionality of the law going to depend on how far from the door the restricted zone is?

35 feet - unconstitutional.

34 feet - unconstitutional.

33 feet - unconstitutional.

32 feet - unconstitutional.

31 feet - unconstitutional.

30 feet - unconstitutional.

29 feet - Bingo! Constitutional!

Why do so many women need ‘counseling’?

Nature itself gives the mother an instinct to preserve and protect her child, correct? The thought of killing your own child should be so abhorrant that no other ‘choice’ is an option.

These women don't need counseling - they need the Holy Ghost.

Why do so many women need ‘counseling’?

Many have been brainwashed and victimized by promoters of the Culture of Death.

So - that ‘brainwashing’ is so effective as to overwhelm the maternal instinct to protect her child?

If so, then it strengthens my point, that what women need is the Holy Spirit, which can only be had by accepting Jesus as their Lord and Savior.

On their own, they apparently cannot even withstand a stranger's call to murder her baby. But with God they can. This is exactly why pro-lifers pray around abortion clinics...and it drives the satanic left nuts.

Anne Fox, president of Massachusetts Citizens for Life, which opposes abortion rights, said the bill is unnecessary. "There are already laws that cover blocking driveways and entrances, harassing people," Fox said. "They haven't given the laws a chance."

Fox said the dispersal zone essentially amounts to another buffer zone.

Abortion opponents have said if the bill becomes law, they are likely to sue the state and argue that the law is unconstitutional.

But with God they can.

Amen.
