Oh, nuns are tough in a school situation. I was educated by the Sisters of Mercy, cough-cough. Why is it, if they can get away from school (annoying, horrible children) they turn into beautiful people, lol?

On the other hand, my mom, growing up with the sisters in THE 1930s!!!! said they were wonderful.

I knew one Sister who took her vows in the late 60's. She said in those days they often were told they were going to be teachers. She was stuck into a classroom with 40 unruly 7 year olds. (This frankly would be my personal Hell). She hated it!

Teaching is a calling, any good teacher has joy in their vocation. Fortunately, one of the few good things to come out of equal rights for women is that they no longer were relegated to being nurses or teachers.

She became a pastoral associate. Her brand of Catholicism by the time I knew her, was not my cup of tea at all. She really felt called to be a priest and she like the new agey stuff. But that's a different kettle of fish.

Getting back to the topic. The women are marrying, so why not a bridal shower. I think it's wonderful.
