I was being sarcastic; however, they do not look like nuns. There is a lovely group of nuns from Spain that live across the street from us. The hags in the picture could learn something from them.
These old women were young women in the 60s and 70s, when most of them joined their orders. It was a messed-up time with lots of messed-up messages.
We have Sisters of Mercy here. One of their facilities began as a home for handicapped/chronically ill children, and then, as the original residents grew up, became a home for adults. There are still good works being done by orders that have gone dotty. Sometimes their compassion is practical and effective, and sometimes it’s just flaked out, especially when you get to things like “climate.”
