What's to reform? It's a written code of law/religion/government.

The only way to reform it is with FIRE! There is NOTHING there worth saving.

Interesting article - thanks for poting.

The point of the article, that Islam is not just a bunch of low info types blindly following the instructions in the Koran, but rather a deeply held belief system that is triibal in nature is, IMHO, right on the mark.

Unfortunately that belief system leads inevitably to a conflict with both the Christian and secular Western culture and our modern civilization. For Islam that equates to Jihad and war. For the West it doesn’t, not yet. That is why we are losing that war. Our ranks have been infiltrated at the highest levels of our society and our government. We cannot say the same about Islam.

Will we wake up and fight? I think so.
Will it be too late? Possibly.

Radical Islam can only be defeated.

It can NOT be “reformed”.

You can’t reform Islam without reforming Satan. Fixed it.

You can't "reform" Islam... but God can reform Muslims.

There was an Islamic Renaissance in the 1400s especially in Spain under the Moors. Art and music flourished, Jews and Christians were tolerated and there was an important sharing of learning between east and west. This was the time of the Persian poet Omar Kayam, advances in medicine and science by Persian scholars and even depictions of the human form in art ( largely forbidden by Islam). This Renaisance was ended by Islamic fundamentalists who dragged Islam back to its tribal 6th century roots where it has remained.

Contrast this to the West where the Medival period ended and the Renaisance flourished. This lead to the Reformation and the Enlightenment where Christianity was shaken and new ideas prevailed. The very fabric of our nation founded on the notion of divinely given individual liberty is a product of the Enlightenment.

Islam however suppressed any ideas from its Renaissance and no Muslim Martin Luther would ever dare nail his theses to the mosque door as both would be contrary to the tribalism that holds Islam together. Islam cannot cope with the idea of a secular society. Only in Turkey did Attaturk succeed in creating a Muslim state were Islam was totally divorced from national society, but 80 years later that secular Islamist state is being dismantled by Isamic fundamentalists.

Perhaps the best example of where Islam leads nations is in the Gulf states where even with massive money from oil and on the surface the appearance of a modernity with skyscrapers and super highways, they remain backward tribal societies. Consider where these states would go without the oil money. They have developed nothing but the trappings of modernity and despite the wealth from oil no other industry or commerce has been built, there is little free enterprise and their society is repressive and stagnant. Their universities must borrow their scholarship from the west as individual thought is contrary to Islamic ideals. Without the oil money they would quickly become backward almost third world nations. Islamic societies can never shake off the tribalism.

Islam can never be reformed - to attempt to do such a thing would be to contradict Mohammad, who said the final word of allah is supreme and can never be altered by man; anyone attempting to change it must be put to death.

A reform in Islam would be like someone changing the words in the Christian Bible and at the same time contradicting Christ. Christian reform was entirely different as it went against then current Church doctrine/dogma, not the words in the Bible, not against Christ’s teachings.

Many people do not know that the qu’ran was given in two parts. They are intermixed and so hard to tell apart. However, the second given half was affirmed by Mohammad as the final word of allah, and the first given half as superfluous and to be disregarded.

The first given half is mostly plagiarized from the Bible and the Torah. These passages hold the single reference in the entire qu’ran to love.

The second given half is an affirmation of Mohammad’s motto, “Kill. Kill. Kill.” It holds the passages dealing with death and murder of all non-believers.

Any putative reformation would have to throw out the second half, leaving only the first half. In which case, Islam would become a watered down version of the Old Testament with a smattering from the New Testament and Torah. What would be the point of remaining a muslim?

Of course, you can only learn this by reading the other four sacred Islamic books (Talibari, Muslim, Isaq and Bukhari) containing the hadiths and sunnahs (the life and sayings of Mohammad) - these are the guides to understanding what the passages in the qu’ran mean. There is no comparable guide in Christianity whose passages can be read for what they say and interpreted as one chooses. Islam is fixed and cannot be changed nor reinterpreted.

Islam doesn’t need reforming.

It needs eradicating.
