Pope Francis Defends the Family: ‘What Is Being Proposed Is Not Marriage’
National Catholic Register ^ | 10/27/2014 | ELISE HARRIS

Posted on 11/03/2014 4:34:37 PM PST by If You Want It Fixed - Fix It

He regretted that there are so many “new forms” of unions which are “totally destructive and limiting the greatness of the love of marriage.” Noting that there are many who cohabitate, or are separated or divorced, he explained that the “key” to helping is a pastoral care of “close combat” that assists and patiently accompanies the couple. Witness is key to spreading the Gospel, he said, explaining that true witness means living “in such a way that the will to live as we live is born in the heart of others…Living in a way (so that) others are interested and ask: ‘why?’” “we are not the saviors of anyone,” but rather are the transmitters of Jesus, who is the one that already saved us all. True witness propels us out of ourselves and into the streets of the world, the Pope continued, repeating his common declaration that a Church, movement or community that doesn’t go out of itself “becomes sick.” “A movement, a Church or a community that doesn’t go out, is mistaken,”...“Don’t be afraid! Go out in mission, go out on the road. We are walkers.” In answer to questions regarding how he can be defined as “reckless,” the Roman Pontiff admitted that although he can be considered “a little reckless,” he still surrenders himself to prayer, saying that it helps him to place Jesus at the center, rather than himself. “There is only one center: Jesus Christ — who rather looks at things from the periphery, no? Where he sees things more clearly,” the Pope observed, saying that when closed inside the small worlds of a parish, a community and even the Roman Curia, “then you do not grasp the truth.” He explained how reality is always seen better from the peripheries rather than the center,

“He explained how reality is always seen better from the peripheries rather than the center,”

I have no idea how that makes any sense but....

God Instituted Marriage Between a Man and a Woman

Facts its Facts... viewed from either the center or a periphery

He was telling you to get out of your comfortable house and go preach the word to the corners of the earth.

Not to be content to sit in your Christian church and lock the doors, but to get out and preach the word.

“What is being proposed is not marriage, it’s an association. But it’s not marriage! It’s necessary to say these things very clearly and we have to say it!” Pope Francis stressed.

Glad he said it... but I still have this uneasiness that next week he’ll say something to water it down or contradict it. Hoping I’m wrong.

A pivotal point is that prior to no fault divorce, many couples went through rough patches in their marriages, but got through them, were very happy and continued doing the best thing for their children.

There are few, almost no absolutes in life.

ALL children hate divorce.

They didn't pray enough, however. The pope is still stuck on fondly referring to fornicators as "couples" who just need "pastoral care".

Noting that there are many who cohabitate, or are separated or divorced, he explained that the “key” to helping is a pastoral care of “close combat” that assists and patiently accompanies the couple.

How does he plan to accompany them in their state of mortal sin? By admitting them to Holy Communion?

He’s gonna sell some miters, robes, rings and Ferraris. You know, get back to what the RC never was, has been, nor ever will be. Old Papa Francis is very “folksy,” don’t ya know. Real people. Hecky Durn.

However, the Holy Father emphasized that although we are called to give this witness, “we are not the saviors of anyone,” but rather are the transmitters of Jesus, who is the one that already saved us all.

He keeps sounding more and more like a Protestant...

True witness propels us out of ourselves and into the streets of the world, the Pope continued, repeating his common declaration that a Church, movement or community that doesn’t go out of itself “becomes sick.”

“A movement, a Church or a community that doesn’t go out, is mistaken,” he said. “Don’t be afraid! Go out in mission, go out on the road. We are walkers.”

Hey, he wants to turn you people into street preachers...What a hoot!!!

“Don’t be afraid! Go out in mission, go out on the road. We are walkers.”

But Francis doesn't practice what he preaches. He refuses to preach Christ to the Jews and he refuses to preach Christ to the Muslims.

In Buenos Aires, he encouraged Communion for all “couples,” of whom only about 20%, at most, are married.

And he refuses to slam sodomy by saying it is incompatible with human nature and is a sin against God. He never saysanything negative about sodomites. Even talking about marriage he does not mention the sin of same-sex unions.

Many people do not really know what Pope Francis has said about marriage.

“Marriage is the icon of God’s love for us”

Posted Apr. 2, 2014 by Marriage Unique for a Reason

Today, Pope Francis concluded his Wednesday catechesis on the Sacraments with a reflection on marriage. He began by explaining that marriage is “A sacrament that leads us to the heart of God’s plan, which is a plan of alliance with his People, with all of us, a plan of communion.” He then explained, “The image of God is a married couple, man and woman, not only man, not only woman, but rather both. This is the image of God: love, God’s alliance with us is represented in the alliance between man and woman.

“We were created to love, as a reflection of God and his love. And in matrimonial union the man and woman realize this vocation, as a sign of reciprocity and the full and definitive communion of life.” When a man and a woman receive the Sacrament of marriage, “God is, so to say, ‘mirrored’ in them, he imprints in them the features and indelible nature of His love. Marriage is the icon of God’s love for us. Indeed, God too is communion: the three Persons of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit have always lived and live forever in perfect unity. And this is the mystery of marriage: God makes married couples into one existence. The Bible uses a strong term: it says one ‘flesh’ only, so intimate is the union between man and woman in marriage.” Pope Francis then concluded his catechesis by saying, “Married life is beautiful, and must be protected.”

Let us pray together for the courage to continue to protect the truth of marriage as the union of one man and one woman!

Tell that to the Protestants on here who keep trashing him because he doesn't preach their dogmas like "Bible alone" and "Salvation through Jesus alone"
