At least some of the faithful of New Birth Missionary Baptist Church in Atlanta had to feign a sense of surprise when sexual abuse accusations against Bishop Eddie Long first surfaced in 2011.
....prominent megachurch pastor, T.D. Jakes, was also curiously quick to forgive Mr. Long. “His sins will be washed in the blood,” was all Mr. Jakes could muster in the form of disapproval.

The Church has many failings in our day and age.One of the worst is the drift towards being more like the world or accepting anything or anybody just so we can all sing Kumbayah or something.

The churches seem to be hurtling toward a one world religion. First they entice Christians by ignoring the consequences of sin.
2 Timothy 4:3 KJV “For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears”
Then they preach subservience to the government by twisting the meaning of Romans 13. Here is the rebuttal:
Ephesians 6:12 “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.”
America is under judgement IMO.
At the church I went to, it was getting more common that people would bring a cup of coffee into the service or an iPad that they would start browsing.
The recent movie, Persecuted, portrayed this well.
