“And, of course, it’s not Mormons who are aborting.”

You know this how? Yes Mormons tend to have large families but only 74% of them saying it’s wrong? That tells me there are a few abortions in Mormon households that are unspoken.

Isn’t that number up to about 57 million now? I think it is a billion worldwide.

With women you are just multiplying your problems exponentially the more you marry.

They’d re-adopt it in an Ogden minute if it became acceptable to mainstream society.
Well duh! Although, I missed the part of the survey on homosexuality and same sex marriage that the "mainstream society" and most other religions are embracing...Any guesses why that wasn't included in the blog with an ad for the LGBT Christian conference?...
Hypocrisy maybe?

The point is any religion that takes as many wives as they please for the purpose of procreation SHOULD NOT BE 74% AGAINST ABORTION!!!

THEY SHOULD BE 100%

Do you hear me now?

From what I can see, many Mormons do not understand the beginnings of their own faith. Some do not even believe Joseph Smith was a real polygamist.

They just came out with some real proofs that he was deeply, truly committed to polygamy, and the comments in Mormon magazines by people who have been Mormons for years have been sort of stunning. They have no idea of who their founder really is. He’s the “prophet” who had a “revelation” and led “his people” and was “martyred” but they know nothing of this character problems at all. Which is not really to be unexpected, when you think about it.

When I was young, I seemed suited for polygamy, in high school I had already developed the practice of consistently dating 2 girls at a time, and sometimes as many as three, meaning all of us together on the same date, except for the intimate time with each of them during the evening, where discreetness and privacy was the rule.

I would be up front when I asked a girl out, or was asked to allow a girl to go out with me, that there would be another girl or two with us, but they didn’t seem to care.

I know for a fact that some males are capable of being surrounded with females and making them all feel comfortable and appreciated.

Here, Morgana, take a gander at this. And you will see the power of historical revisionism when it comes to Mormonism.

Now the LDS just a few months ago admitted yes, JS WAS a polygamist, so all false stories like the following that people were believing caused a little bit of a shakeup.

Part of it:

Joseph Smith: Innocent of Polygamy

By Richard Price

History affirms that the Prophet Joseph Smith was innocent of the teaching and practice of polygamy. This false doctrine was introduced into the Church in the early days of the Restoration Movement by men who conspired to use his name to create a theology that would cover their own sins.

It is a very simple matter to determine that Joseph was not a polygamist: He fathered no children by plural wives, even though his wife, Emma, bore him nine. It would have been impossible for Joseph to have had at least twenty-seven wives, as the Mormon Church in Utah claims, without having fathered at least one child by a polygamous wife—especially when the only purpose of polygamy (according to its advocates) was to have children born of polygamous parents. And yet Joseph fathered not one such child! This fact alone proves that he did not practice that doctrine.

The truth is that Joseph Smith was “framed”— that is, the doctrine of polygamy which found its way into the Church came in through the Cochranites. It also came through three different groups of men who falsely claimed that Joseph was its author in order to justify their own evil activities.

The Prophet Israel A. Smith understood this “framing” of his grandfather and wrote, “Joseph Smith was the greatest victim of fraud and conspiracy of the last 500 years. Nothing like it in recorded history. He was simply lied about when something had to be done to justify the filth and rottenness of Utah Mormon Polygamy” (letter to Mrs. Richard Price, September 17, 1956).

Not really, until someone asks them about the difference between abortion as a political/legal voting issue, versus for abortion within Mormonism, we don’t really know exactly what they think, and remember, they will change en mass if told to.

While the evidence is not large, what evidence we do have seems to indicate that Romney had two different views on abortion, one for Mormons, and one for the America outside of his fellow Mormons.

Mitt Romney is not your average Joe Mormon. He's a politician. I expect him to change his story. If I want to know about Mormonism I'll ask an average Mormon on the street not some politician who's head is so big. mitt romney photo: romney-mouth.gif

More who were polled said polygamy was worse than abortion.

Bishop Romney is an exceptionally devout Mormon, his politics have never come before his faith, and in fact are a part of his service to his church.

You are the one that needs to learn more about Mormonism evidently.

Romney has excommunicated members of his faith, that stray from doctrine.

“You are the one that needs to learn more about Mormonism evidently.”

It’s all I can do to study my own faith. I only posted this thread due to the abortion content.

However if you have insight to more of the abortion rate in the Mormon faith by all means do share! This is the thread for it. I have exposed abortion happenings in other faiths but this time it’s the Mormon church. I expose it no matter where it happens and I expose it because it’s the ugly truth.

So please Ansell if you know anything do tell!
