Cafeteria catholics still throwing a hissy fit over Archbishop Cordileone actually wanting Catholicism taught in SF Catholic schools. The nerve of that bishop. Who in the world does he think he is, a Catholic bishop? Didn't he clear all this with Nancy Pelosi first. How could he be so mean. I'm gonna tell Pope Francis on him. Me will!!

Back the Archbishop! The Church in its essence is “divisive” - dividing sin from virtue, and “intolerant” - of the Enemy!

San Freaksicko. Figures. Did Jesus say to the woman who was almost stoned “Go and sin some more”? I don’t think so.
This Southern Baptist says the archbishop is correct and should stand his ground.

I have never heard of ANY of these so-called “prominent Catholics”? Who do they make themselves out to be?

If “Catholics” have a problem with the Cardinal's spreading of Christ's teachings then it's *they*,and not the Cardinal, who should go.His (Christ's) teachings are not negotiable.”Thou Shalt Not Commit Adultery” isn't complicated...one needn't be a rocket scientist to understand it.
There's plenty of room at the typical Unitarian/Universals "church" for skepics.

I doubt that those “Catholics” who are complaining were ever Catholics to begin with.

When I saw the headline, I knew the prominent Catholics
did not support his ouster because he was too liberal.

The folks in SF want the bishop sacked for the unforgivable sin of being Catholic. The probably want him replaced by a Unitarian.

There, fixed the headline.

I talked to him right after he was transferred from Oakland to SF at an airport ready to go to Rome, and told him he REALLY had God’s work cut out for him and that Freepers were praying for him.......so PLEASE PRAY FOR HIM!!!

“More than 100 prominent Catholics...”
Looking at the actual list, it contains elementary school teachers, parish volunteers, a couple Catholic high school graduates, several nurses. It looks like a handful of businessmen and a USF trustee thought they were speaking for the archdiocese’s congregations, and ended up with only several dozen nobodies to join them.
