It was and is following Christ that is most important. I have said before, after the Ascension of Jesus the apostles attended the Synagogue on the Sabbath and then met in home churches on Sunday — the day of the Resurrection — for a meal and what at that time was the beginning of the Mass — indeed, following Christ.
