Last October we saw the disputes and problems that erupted during the Extraordinary Synod of Bishops on the Family. There were behind scenes plots, thefts of books, attempts to repress the press, revolt on the floor, sudden changes in procedures some were determined to ram into to the agenda certain items.
Now the Instrumentum Laboris for the upcoming October Ordinary Synod is out. This is the working document for the members of the Synod.
I have been exploring the 2015 IL.
I found in the section on La via penitenziale the penitential path, an proposal (to the Synod for discussion) that the divorced and remarried who are in convivenza irreversibile irreversible cohabitation (perhaps for the sake of children) can be admitted to Holy Communion through a period of penance under the direction of the local bishop.
Camels nose comes to mind.
And, I have to ask, will diocesan bishops undertake this penitential spiritual direction of couples personally? Can you imagine how that might work in a whole diocese? How about someplace the size of, say, Chicago? Would Archbp. Cupich handle all these couples personally? Could Card. OMalley handle this himself for the entire Archdiocese of Boston? Or would he delegate? Might he delegate to, say, pastors of parishes? Subsidiarity, right? And will pastors, who are busy, take this on himself? Or will he delegate? He just might. To whom? To former Sister Randi, who now heads up RE?
Im just asking.
Suggest you try to wade through the following:
The fact that this has been publicly released, with the approval of Francis, and posted on the Vatican’s website is an obvious sign that this pope has not and still does not believe in the indissolubility of the sacrament of Marriage. Contrary to the teaching of Jesus Christ.
I recommend that Francis stay indoors when he hears thunder, but then again, that is not how Fr. Volpi expired.
I wonder what my father would think of this document. I suspect he would renounce the Faith, or what’s left of it.
Very troubling, indeed.
There's no such think as "irreversible cohabitation"!
What's irreversible is THE FOUR LAST THINGS ---- DEATH, JUDGMENT, HELL and HEAVEN.
If adulterous relationships are no longer a barrier to the reception of Holy Communion, then homosexual relationships will cease to be a barrier as well. The lavender mafia is driving this train.
Have faith. Things will not change.
Why not? I have been saying this all along. We already went down the slippery slope with communion. In the 1983 Code of Canon Law, JPII allowed non-Catholics to receive communion. Prior to VII, non-Catholics were NEVER allowed to receive communion unless they converted first.
There is NOTHING the Synod can “teach” that isn’t already taught by the Church. There is absolutely no reason for this Synod. No reason whatsoever. It’s nothing but a playground for evil bishops and Cardinals who want to push sodomy, divorce, adultery, etc.
I don’t care how he dies, only when.
The vast majority of bishops around the world give Communion to legislators and others who promote abortion. In the U.S., perhaps ten bishops don’t.
ALL of the Popes during the last forty years have failed to make an issue of this. Benedict spoke the truth about it, but did absolutely nothing.
Since abortionists can receive Communion, the Church has NO valid argument against reception of Communion by adulterers, fornicators, sodomites, murders—ANYBODY.
