Just a personal point of view, I would reluctantly take direction from a male (a priest in this case) who never had a wife, never raised a child(ren), never had to experience the hardships and joys of building a life for a family, etc...

I'm not saying the life of a priest is easy, but I would have nothing to relate to him, that would motivate me to follow his leadership...

Show me a man who has the done the things I have done in my life and done them better, you have my attention...

Many priests being ordained these days are on their second vocation in life.

We have a FReeper who just became a priest after a change in his life. I bet you would identify with him.

How about a priest that had worked in a major airline industry before he became a priest? Would you listen to him?
