One also tires of the protestations of the ignorant. The word “socialism” has a clear and specific meaning. It refers to a system in which all things are held in common.

The author ought to get his definitions straight before referring to others as "ignorant".

Full Definition of SOCIALISM

1 : any of various economic and political theories advocating collective or governmental ownership and administration of the means of production and distribution of goods

2 a : a system of society or group living in which there is no private property b : a system or condition of society in which the means of production are owned and controlled by the state

3 : a stage of society in Marxist theory transitional between capitalism and communism and distinguished by unequal distribution of goods and pay according to work done

Pope Francis seems Marxist to me. And he is the reason why I am no longer Catholic.

Taking my stuff and giving to other people is socialism, isn’t it?

If I want to give my stuff to other people, that’s up to me.

I help my neighbor. He’s been out of work for a long time now (2 years?) and has no income. Lost unemployment. When I go to the store, I buy extra and tell him I overbought. I don’t want to make him feel small. This is up to me.

If someone took it from me and gave it to him or anybody else, that would be socialism.

No?

I wish Pope Francis would retire!
