Wow, I had to scroll down through a lot of over-wrought nonsense before I came to your voice of sanity. I watched the movie yesterday with my kids and saw nothing more than a harmless bit of kids’ fun.
I am upfront and centre when it comes to seeing leftist and anti-family propaganda being fed in modern TV, movies and pop music but I really didn’t see anything in Minions that made me feel uncomfortable.
Yes, the minions seek an evil boss, but what do we know about them? Well first and foremost they are hopeless idiots, so seeking an evil boss is hardly being put forward as a cool or sensible career choice. It’s the choice of mindless fools. The evil characters are all over-drawn figures of ridicule who all end up losing.
I could go on but seriously anyone who was brought up on the diet of mindless violence and destruction that was the staple of Looney Tunes or Tom and Jerry, which were produced during the Norman Rockwell era of American goodness has little to find to complain about in Minions.
Let’s pick the right hillside to fight and die on folks, trust me, Minions is a bit of harmless fun, there are much worse things going on out there.
From the review, a very amusing bit “You are so squishy! Scarlet gushes over the [Archbishop of Canterbury], squeezing his cheeks. Id love to believe that was an intentional theological joke.”
It pretty much HAS to be intentional, if it wasn’t that’s even funnier!
Wow $7.50 for a matinée!?
I saw it yesterday and thought it good fun.

I’m fast becoming an old man, and I can prove it; I have no idea what any of you are discussing here...
