Pray For Our American Heroes and Our Nation
One of my personal heroes, Dietrich Bonhoeffer, was an Evangelical Pastor in Germany during the Nazi era. Unwilling to compromise his Faith, he formed his own "Outlaw" Seminary. He was eventually captured and hanged by the Nazis, and was implicated in a plot to assassinate Hitler.
One of the ways he would train his seminarians was to give them one little verse, like Psalm 73:25-26. and assign them to meditate on this verse for a whole week, getting everything they could from it. In today's world of instant communications, smart phones, computers, and on-line translation, this might seem like a crazy assignment!
Yet, those survivors who remember those days say it was the deepest, most profound experience they have ever had with the Word.
Come and Pray For Our American Heroes and For Our Nation.
Blessings To All Who Visit Here

That’s a beautiful idea! I wonder how many times during the week, dealing with its ups and downs, those passages would come to the minds and hearts of the people he shepherded!

That’s very interesting about his teaching just one scripture to his students.
My Pastor did the very same thing in our Bible School classes; except, he would give us 3 scriptures to memorize and then we had to write how it affected our thinking.
Actually, while I have your ear: I’m searching for a scripture by one of the disciples that went something like this - We speak, therefore we are. This was the one of the scriptures I learned that had the most effect on me - it taught me that Faith Speaks. It’s really bugging me that I can’t find the scripture. Your help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
