I pastor I know of spent a month in jail for contempt of court during the Operation Rescue days.
He said it was the best thing that ever happened to him spiritually.
My prayers are for the same for Mrs. Davis.
sorry for the delayed response. been preocupied with things.
i agree. that kind of suffering can bring great joy. praise God that Mrs. Davis is now out of prison.
God bless her for it, Mrs. Davis has decided to pick up her particular cross and follow Him. i think she realized that in this case, resignation would have been putting down her cross. the act of a coward.
i think you like tozer. so do i thanks to your posting him. he sums up the situation Kim Davis finds herself in very well (from A. W. Tozer, The Cross of Obedience, The Radical Cross, p 71, 72):
“All Christians living in full obedience will experience the cross and find themselves exercised in the spirit very frequently. If they know their own hearts, they will be prepared to wrestle with the cross when it comes.”
...
“Continue to name the great souls who followed the will of God, and you will name the men and women of God who looked forward by faith, and their obedience invariably led them into places of blessed and painful and fruitful trouble.”
