Jonathan Cahn: 'We are racing to judgment'

Yeah, we are. But, consider the sources. WND, your one stop source for fringe christian-ish nuttery and false teaching. And Jonathan Cahn.

The Israelites ignored prophets’ warnings to turn back to God, and soon they were wiped off the face of the Earth.

Nooo, they went into exile, per the stipulations of the Sinai covenant, for their persistent unbelief, unfaithfulness and disobedience. And (some) brought back, by God's grace, and kept in a humbled wait until the coming of the true saviour messiah and the new covenant he inaugurated.

Many years later, according to Cahn, there was another civilization dedicated to the glory and purposes of God – the United States of America

Dedicated to deism and Endarkenment ideals, and not in covenant with Yahweh. Saying one is in covenant with God, doesn't make it so. Folks that say we are, need to produce the documents.

"produce the documents."

One should always investigate these matters for themselves. And I agree with you Lee that we should never take anyones' word for something as serious as this. That said, and from my personal research, Jonathan Cahn is accurate on most everything he says - again based on what I've researched. He does do quite a bit of interpolation based on similarities between America and Jewish history. Personally, I believe he is really on to something as events have shown.

He quotes scripture in both his books, if you haven't read them, and ties everthing back to the main document he uses which is the Bible.

I'm not defending him, just suggesting everyone do their own research and decide for themselves.

Obviously, you have not read Washington’s address.

Actually, Cahn has been very careful to not use the term “covenant” for the U.S.’ relationship to God. He also avoids any connection with “replacement theology,” which posits one nation or another over the years has somehow stepped into the shoes of ancient Israel. Rather, it seems to me he has merely drawn some basic observations from the Hebrew Scriptures about how God deals with mankind in general: warnings before judgement, cycles of sevens, etc.

And he has been blessed with a vision to see the warnings clearly and interpret them scripturally. The story of how he came to write The Harbinger and get it published is itself an amazing tale. The guy needs to be listened to.

My main concern is that he may have been carried away by his sudden notoriety, pushed his thesis to unwarranted extremes and in his eagerness to get the story out has fallen in with a cadre of self-promoting TV style internet preachers who specialize in peddling fear and doom to profit on prepper gear. Prophet, beware the pitfall.
