Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem
The Gospel of John The Evangelist starts with a glorious hymn in which he describes Jesus as the "Logos" of God. Although that is translated as "Word", it means much more than that. It is the Greek word from which we derive the terms "logic", "logistics", "logo", and a lot more. It is a deep Theological concept that deserves much more study than we can do here!
In John's account of the rugged preacher from the desert, he fleshes out more details. We read of his encounter with the religious Leaders, who, as we said, had a duty to investigate the Phenomenon at the Jordan. From this conversation, it would seem that they weren't just being pests...they REALLY wanted to know!
John answers truthfully. He is not the Messiah, nor is he Elijah, nor even "The Prophet". His response is a direct quote from Isaiah, I am the voice of one calling in the wilderness, Make straight the way for the Lord."
Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.
Blessings To All Who Visit This Garden of Prayer.
