In today’s world, the mob would lack the humility to admit fault in themselves and she would be dead. Today’s narcissists view themselves as perfect. That’s what the self-esteem movement has wrought.
____________________________

That is very different from what the Bible says. God repeatedly informs us (try Romans Ch 3, for example) that ALL people in all times, without conversion by the saving grace of God, are haters and enemies of God — even if we deceive ourselves into thinking we are not. Narcissism is the natural state of people. All people. There is no humility apart from being in Christ.

“None is righteous, no, not one;
11 no one understands;
no one seeks for God.
12 All have turned aside; together they have become worthless;
no one does good,
not even one.”
13 “Their throat is an open grave;
they use their tongues to deceive.”
“The venom of asps is under their lips.”
14 “Their mouth is full of curses and bitterness.”
15 “Their feet are swift to shed blood;
16 in their paths are ruin and misery,
17 and the way of peace they have not known.”
18 “There is no fear of God before their eyes.”

The self-esteem movement is not a cause of people not turning to God; it is a symptom.

Furthermore, many who consider themselves Christian by pointing to their own “righteousness” are not Christians at all. Read Matthew 3:21-23.

I once knew a woman who, at 16, moved in with her first pimp and began a life as a prostitute. Not surprisingly, she chose adultery (and continued prostitution) throughout her marriage. She is, without a doubt, burning in hell...and deservedly so.

The point, sometimes evil people never change.

Are you implying something with this part of your post?
