Russian Orthodox patriarch: Americans for natural marriage are ‘Confessors of the Faith’
MOSCOW, November 2, 2015 (LifeSiteNews) – According to Patriarch Kirill, leader of the Russian Orthodox Church, Christians who stand for the ancient traditions of their faith are becoming "Confessors of the Faith," in the mold of the mutilated and exiled St. Maximos (+662 AD).
Kirill met with famous American Evangelical leader Franklin Graham last week, with whom he shared his admiration for American evangelicals' defense of Christian morals. Kirill called those who suffer for their stand supporting natural marriage modern-day Confessors.
The head of the world's largest Orthodox church noted tragic changes in Western spiritual life, including turning away from "Christian tradition" and creating societies in which moral values are no longer dominant. Kirill also noted with regret recent legislation and court decisions allowing homosexual "marriage," "equaling it to natural marriage that the Lord has given us in commandment."
He said that Westerners who resist such immoral laws and court decisions are "subjected to repressions."
"Today, Christians who uphold the intransient importance of Christian moral values had to become Confessors of the Faith, living under various kind[s] of pressure, including the mass media," the patriarch of Moscow said.

Patriarch Kirill and The Russian Orthodox Church are also targets for denigration, demonization, and slander by Obama, DemoRats, and Homofascista Islamonazi Maiden shills, as are most Russians that don’t suck up to the US Government for cash.

It is noteworthy that it is Evangelical and, I think, Fundamentalist Christians who have refused publicly to collaborate in sham “weddings.” Catholics have not been heard from, although the position of the various bakers, florists, and caterers, and Kim Davis, is the Catholic position. Namely, the implementation of same-sex marriage is to be RESISTED in “every way possible.”
Meanwhile, Archbishop Cupich, a papal darling, has explicitly declared that he will give Communion to gay couples. He will, necessarily, punish priests who do not join him in committing this mortal sin.

Of course, the Moscow Patriarchate has been accused of the "arch-heresy" of creationism from time to time.

Unfortunately, neither has anyone else. Why "racist rednecks" (their critics' words) have to stand up alone against all this, I don't know. And needless to say, Black Evangelicals and Fundamentalists are the most silent of all.
