Didn’t he mention that it was just the use of condoms in these disease cases?
Still — for me, it counters Humanae Vitae.

Does this mean I'm welcome on the Catholic caucus threads ?
/8^)
In this thing called life, we all have a part in doing our best and using the brains God gave us
We non Catholics have OUR brains attuned to a Biblical frequency the Catholic can't (or won't try to) receive
Be that as it may ... there ARE common elements we can unite around

Go over the original FrancisQuotes on this one, and you'll see they are are ambiguous in the extreme. I don't know whether he's Elmer-Fuddishly skating down the cracking ice to the slushy edge of evil (which is --- well --- stupidity) or if he's being deliberately morally equivocal (intentionally insinuating evil--- which is evil.)
Whichever it is, this is no mere verbal foot-fault. It's by far his most destructive anti-pedagogy. In my judgment, this is qualitatively different from the rest of his pastoral malpractice: it's an effective inducement into evil.
This cuts to the core. I am flabbergasted that the Filipino Bishops would do a 180 degree turn on this and head themselves straight to hell.
