Maybe it was the last straw. This pope is nothing to brag about. I can not read her mind. Can you? Again, lol.

God bless you. Alive in Christ beats institutional allegiance every time. Thanks be to God.

After reading what was said, I assume you read the entire transcript, how do you justify your denial?

The turning of a blind eye, and even suggestions or participation, to sin and corruption at high level positions of power within the Church. Usage of intimidation to silence those who desire exposing those in participation. Evidence of repeated cover ups of abuse by priests against children by those holding positions of power within the Church hierarchy, to name but a few examples. All in obvious conflict with the Bible.

We can agree to disagree, but we are still free to draw our own conclusions.

I'm more than willing to listen to your arguments to dissuade me from my conclusions. But I have to admit they will have to be very convincing. At this point I am obviously convinced of my conclusion. This transcript only helps to reinforce what I have thought for quite sometime now. In addition, the current Pope provides even more evidence to me in support of my belief. But my belief is irrelevant because I will not be the one making judgment.

Looking around at what is transpiring I think should make everyone who has witnessed the complete transformation of societies, even the family unit itself, to reflect on this.

What I personally see is the complete upending of right and wrong, good and evil, justice and injustice, order and disorder. When I see evidence of this appearing in our houses of worship, time for reflection is upon us.

... point out why someone leaving Christ's church because she didn't like the titular head would be any different from giving up on your country because you didn't like its head person??????sound the same to me.

... point out why folks leaving England's control because they didn't like the ABUSES of it's titular head would be any different from Luther trying to get the One True Church's attention with his list of 95 items of corruption?

Sounds the same to me.

Catholics seek perfection, but just like the rest of you, they seldom achieve it.

Hound dogs 'seek' raccoons; too; but sometimes they bark up the wrong tree.

Seek ye first the Lord and HIS righteousness...

...not His mom!

‘May have’?

MINOR?

I’ve got a MAJOR fault and it’s called SIN and all the wine that turns into blood is NOT gonna help me!

Just the SHED blood on the Cross will do it.

Thanks be to GOD for the Book that Rome assembled so long ago!

I know that my Savior lives, and at the end he will stand on this earth. My flesh may be destroyed, yet from this body I will see God.

This pope is nothing to brag about.

Perhaps a list of the popes abuses; nailed to the Vatican's main door; might get the results you disgruntled Catholics seem to want so badly.

But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design
to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government,
and to provide new Guards for their future security.

I guess my real point is that other sects of Christianity have softened (for lack of a better word I guess) their stances with regards to homosexuality. While not completely sanctioning homosexuality they have gone much further towards that position than hold steady in opposition.

Sadly too true as sanctioning homosexual relations. Yet relatively (no pun intended) evangelicals are the most conservative large group on this and other issue. Search homosexual. And among other things, sodomy is responsible for 79% of new HIV cases in the US. Yet as we all sin in various, there is room at the cross for all contrite souls of faith in the risen Lord Jesus to save by His sinless shed blood. not our merits.

Change will only come from the laity. Some of us have been opposing the homosexualization of the Church since the 1970’s. We have learned:

Forget about protocol, canon law, bishops, careful letters, petitions, the hierarchy, reform, house-cleaning, excommunications, dossiers, seminary rectors, CDF, CDW, SCC, formal structure, proper channels.

That approach has proven ineffective. The Princes of the Church do not feel beholden to you. Call not upon them, but upon the Holy Spirit.

The power to save the Church comes from the laity, and now only the laity. Ponder and decide how to use your power.
