Jesus, the Word to be Spoken

"He who has dipped his hand into the dish with me is the one who will betray me"

Look at the demonstration Christ gave of compassion towards Judas, that man who had received so much love and yet betrayed his own Master – the same Master who maintained a holy silence and did not betray him to his companions. In fact, Jesus might easily have spoken openly, telling others about Judas' hidden intentions and schemes. But no. He preferred to demonstrate his mercy and charity and, instead of condemning him, he called him 'friend' (Mt 26,50). If only Judas had looked Jesus in the eye, as Peter did (Lk 22,61), Judas would have been friend to God's mercy. Jesus always felt mercy.

'Knowledge of created things helps a man at a time of temptation and listlessness; but at a time of pure prayer it is usually harmful.'
