Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in his hand. He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities. Therefore will I divide him a portion with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he hath poured out his soul unto death: and he was numbered with the transgressors; and he bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.(Isaiah 53:10-12)

It was the LORD himself who crushed the Servant, it pleased Him to do so. The plight of sinful man required this self offering as a substitution, for a righteous God can only receive sinners on righteous terms. Sin must be paid for, Holiness must be satisfied, the punishment must be carried out.

The LORD appointed the Servant, that He might take our place in the judgment of our sin. All of the humiliation, pain, perplexity and estrangement that He experienced, is summed up in this terse, “He(the LORD) hath put him (the Servant) to grief“. It can also read, “He hath made him sick”.

The death of the Servant was an offering of propitiation for our sins, that is a satisfaction offering. All of the demands of the broken law of God, and the offended holiness of God against sinners, have been satisfied by the offering of the Servant.

…when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin…This is addressed to the reader or hearer of this prophecy, “… When You make His life your sin offering…”. We are to approach God solely by the offering of this life, for this is the only sacrifice acceptable to God.

…he shall see his seed… Death will not be the last word for the Servant, for the Servant will see the outcome of his agony, a believing seed will arise out of his work. He will be the source of a congregation , redeemed by His blood. They will be faithful and true believers in Him, and in the God whom He came to reveal.

…he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in his hand… The Servant will live forever. This refers to the promise given in Psalms to David’s seed,

He asked life of thee, and thou gavest it him, even length of days for ever and ever. His glory is great in thy salvation: honour and majesty hast thou laid upon him. For thou hast made him most blessed for ever: thou hast made him exceeding glad with thy countenance.(Psalm 21:4-6)

God’s pleasure, (to redeem sinful men unto Himself), will succeed by the hand of the willing Servant. There will be many of every tribe and tongue who shall come to know the “only true God” through the work of the servant. The good purposes of the Lord shall flourish by the suffering of this one.

…He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied… This too is a reference to the resurrection of the Servant, and the satisfactory outcome of his work. He will see the result of what he suffered for, and will be satisfied. It will have been worth pouring out his very soul to death, when He sees the redeemed company, knowing and loving God.

…by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities… Accepting in humble faith, the report of what the Servant has done for us; with all of it’s implications as to our persons, (that we are sinners in need of redemption, utterly separated from God by our sins), amounts to saving faith.

Knowing and receiving the risen Servant of the LORD, and his work of sin bearing, taking upon himself the guilt for our sins, is the only way sinful man can be justified before a holy God. It is the God appointed way to be saved.

As “Abraham believed God and it was accounted to him for righteousness“, even so the many, who simply believe the report of the Servant, shall receive as a free gift right standing with God. This is only possible because the offering of the Servant has satisfied the claims against us, and given the LORD a Righteous way to justify us.

He not only bore our sins, He also bore our sicknesses & diseases...

Isa 53:4 Truly, He has borne our sicknesses and carried our pains. Yet we reckoned Him stricken, smitten by Elohim, and afflicted. 5 But He was pierced for our transgressions, He was crushed for our iniquities. The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed.

Psa 103:2 Bless YHWH, O my being, And do not forget all His dealings, 3 Who forgives all your iniquities, Who heals all your diseases,

2Ch 16:12 And in the thirty-ninth year of his reign, Asa became diseased in his feet, and his disease was severe. Yet even in his disease he did not seek unto YHWH, but unto the physicians.

Mar 5:25 And a certain woman had a flow of blood for twelve years, 26 and had suffered much from many physicians, and spent all that she had and was no better, but rather became worse. 27 Having heard about Yeshua (Jesus), she came behind Him in the crowd and touched His garment, 28 for she said, “If I only touch His garments, I shall be made well.” 29 And immediately the fountain of her blood was dried up, and she felt in her body that she was healed of the affliction. 30 And immediately Yeshua (Jesus), knowing in Himself that power had gone out of Him, turned around in the crowd and said,“Who touched My garments?” 31 And His taught ones said to Him, “You see the crowd is thronging You, and You say, ‘Who touched Me?’ ” 32 And He was looking around to see her who did this. 33 And the woman, fearing and trembling, knowing what was done to her, came and fell down before Him and spoke to Him all the truth. 34 And He said to her, “Daughter, your belief has healed you. Go in peace, and be relieved from your affliction.”

And so the question begs to be answered, if by belief we are healed, then how is it that the “church” body is full of sickness and disease? Why are we taught to rely on those who in the end, only make ones disease worse than it was when it first appeared?

Why is this critical part of the “Gospel” of Christ ignored and even shunned? I speak as one who has been healed, not by man's medicine that nearly killed me, but by the faith of Christ who is in me through His Spirit of Truth. John 14-17.

2Co 3:18 And we all, as with unveiled face we see as in a mirror the esteem of YHWH, are being transformed into the same likeness from esteem to esteem, as from YHWH, the Spirit.

The physical is but a shadow of the spiritual and if there is spiritual healing, the physical will display evidence of that healing, just as the Word of YHWH speaking through Moses, teaches us it will.

Deu 7:15 “And YHWH shall turn away from you all sickness and put on you none of the evil diseases of Egypt which you have known, but He shall put them on all those who hate you.

And so it would seem that all those who persecute those of us who actually take the Word of God literally, so to obey it, especially the 4th Commandment concerning His Sabbath, He has placed all these sicknesses and diseases upon those who say they believe, yet do not practice that belief, but instead, persecute & belittle those who have the faith to walk it out as Yeshua (Jesus) did. (Php 2:5-9, 1Pt 2:21-22, 1Cor 11:1, Eph 5:1)

Shalom

THE LAW OF GOD

OLD TESTAMENT

1. Thou shalt have no other gods before Me.

2. Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth; thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them; for I the Lord thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate Me; and showing mercy unto thousands of them that love Me, and keep my commandments.

3. Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord they God in vain, for the Lord will not hold him guiltless that taketh His name in vain.

4. Remember the Sabbath day to keep it holy. Six days shalt thou labor, and do all thy work; but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord thy God, in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates; for in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day; wherefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day, and hallowed it.

5. Honor thy father and thy mother; that thy days may be long upon the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee.

6. Thou shalt not kill.

7. Thou shalt not commit adulterv.

8 Thou shalt not steal

9. Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy
neighbor.

See Exodus 20:1-18

I will not alter nor break the thing that is gone out of my
lips.

(See Psalms 89:34)

NEW TESTAMENT

1. “Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and Him only shalt thou serve.” Matthew 4:10

3. “That the name of God and His doctrine be not blasphemed.” 1 Timothy 6:1

4. “Pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the Sabbath day.” “The Sabbath was made for man, and not man for the Sabbath, therefore the Son of man is Lord also of the Sabbath.” “For He spake in a certain place of the seventh day on this wise. And God did rest the seventh day from all His works.” “There remaineth therefore a keeping of a Sabbath to the people of God. For he that is entered into His rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from His.” “For by Him were all things created that are in heaven, and that are in earth.” Matthew 24:20, Mark 2:27;28; Hebrews 4:4, 9, 10, margin; Colossians 1:16.

9. “Thou shalt not bear false witness.” Romans 13:9.

10. “Thou shalt not covet.” Romans 7:7.

AFTER HIS DEATH

“Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: Yea, we establish the law.” Romans 3.31.
“They… rested the Sabbath day according to the commandment.” Luke 23:54-56

SABBATH IN THE NEW EARTH

“For as the new heavens and the new earth, which I will make, shall remain before Me, saith the Lord, so shall your seed and your name remain, and it shall come to pass, that from one new moon to another, and from one Sabbath to another, shall all flesh come to worship before Me, saith the Lord.” lsaiah 66:22,23. See Mark 2:27-28.
