As a Protestant, I have been told by a few Roman Catholic on this forum, I am damned to hell because I don't belong to the one true Roman Catholic Church...

The same Catholic Church who decided to promote an avowed Marxist to lead and function as the head of the "one true church"

I don't expect an apology...

“As a Protestant, I have been told by a few Roman Catholic on this forum, I am damned to hell because I don’t belong to the one true Roman Catholic Church”

The Catholic Church is the one true church. It is based on the teaching of Jesus Christ and has a rich 2000 year tradition.

The Catholic Church was founded by Jesus Christ and the apostles.

One evil man does not destroy the one true church. One evil man does not negate the founding by Jesus Christ.

Anyone who said you were “damned to hell” is wrong.

As a Protestant we are brothers in Christ and share a Christian tradition.

Francis is evil. The church founded by Jesus Christ is not.

Do you feel micro-aggressed?

“As a Protestant, I have been told by a few Roman Catholic on this forum, I am damned to hell because I don’t belong to the one true Roman Catholic Church...”

“It follows that these separated churches and Communities, though we believe they suffer from defects, are deprived neither of significance nor importance in the mystery of salvation. In fact the Spirit of Christ has not refrained from using them as instruments of salvation, whose value derives from that fullness of grace and of truth which has been entrusted to the Catholic Church”— Pope B16, Dominus Iesus

Next time tell them to take it up with the Popes.

I was thinking the same thing. I don’t ever want to hear anything like that again. They need to get their own house in order before being critical of Protestants. No one is perfect but this guy seems to be stuck on stupidity. Bless his heart.

I am Catholic and I am sorry other Catholics said that. What they said is not, of course, a correct statement of the position of the Catholic Church. Indeed, it is the opposite.

Those Catholics are ignorant. No one can be damned who does what he is convinced is right.

If you became convinced that the Catholic Church is the church founded by Jesus Christ, and refused to join it, then you would be damned, as I am sure will agree.

God, because none will ever be forthcoming.

There are still Catholics who will continue to tell you this, tell you that the pope is Christ’s vicar on earth, and then try to excuse or just downright bad mouth the pope.

The disconnect is staggering and yet somehow it can be rationalized in the minds of devoted Catholics as if the pope doesn’t matter in Catholicism as *the church* can exist without the clergy or laity.

The people make up the church. The them away and there is no church.
