There is no difference at all. He was talking about the condition prior to His sacrifice on the Cross to atone for our sins. Galatians 5:4 of the Word of God says that Jesus releases us from the legalisms of the Old Testament. I ask you. Does God not own everything ?
You get a free hat.
And I don’t. That is part of the point, we give it back to God to acknowledge He is the owner.
Good point and so true . So much of the “church” today is not in the bible . In fact “church” was not in the Bible until 1611 but back to your point, I was watching one of the most blasphemes tv preachers, IMO , “Mike” Murdock. He wanted the sheeple to send him a “seed “ and we would get 100 “fold”. I mailed him a Zucchini seed and never got 100 back!!
“Does a king tax his family?”
“At worst, the church gets interest-free loans.”
‘Checking 0.05% “
That’s like $4 a month on $100k.
Sounds fair to me. Churches that promise “blessings” in the form of financial rewards from God should provide money-back guarantees just like any “as seen on TV” infomercial would do.
This only worked for Israel prior to the cross. Some Hebrew Scripture works for us today, and some doesn’t.
I wonder what a man like George Mueller, who saw Gods hand move because of prayer, would say to this?
Ah, but it’s cheaper than borrowing at 18%. “Your refund check is in the mail. Please allow 60 to 90 days for delivery.”
Does the family dole out money to share the blessing they have received for the furtherment of The Kingdom? To feed and clothe the poor? To spread the good word?

(Luke 6:38) Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.
While Christians are not called to give a 10% temple tax they are called to give and there is a return promise of blessing , notice it doesn’t say give to get rich .
Not saying this supporting any prosperity gospel (I happen to think it stinks and amounts to no more than mammon worship and Christians should run from any pastor that tells you give to get rich)
Christians are called to give though and to give freely and I think that includes time/money/labor or what ever it is needed at the time . Jesus wants us to give from the heart so if you don’t want to give it don’t.
I don’t think anyone can go wrong giving to missions :)
Telling congregation, "you officially suck."
He sounds really mixed up.
If they want to. Not if they don’t want to. There is absolutely no reward for it. We are all joint heirs with Jesus , the Son of God.
No, that isn’t bribing God. Christ Himself is the One who broached the subject; stating that if we submit to, and honor His Word, which includes the commandment to tithe, HE will reward that exhibition of our faith and obedience by pouring out a blessing.
Blow off that challenge with any clever retort you care to cobble together. But if you do, you not only miss out on the blessing, but you stand in stark unbelief and disobedience to God.
The best decision my wife and I ever made, second only to giving our hearts to Christ in the first place, was to put our finances under His control, as well. It has been a steady stream of 53 years worth of sowing and reaping, as we gave to support our local church, as well as provide for Christian ministries around the globe. God has a bigger shovel than you do. But you’ve got to be dumb enough to believe it and act upon it.
Apparently pastor Perry Noble, of the New Spring Church, thinks so.
Not very "noble" of him.
Free will giving according to the New Testament is great, but Christians should be good stewards with their giving, which means NOT giving to hucksters, hireling pastors, false teachers and bad shepherds like Perry Noble.
It still sounds like the person is buying a blessing. If you give an amount of money expecting something in return(a blessing), that’s the very definition of buying.
It’s the reason Christ said that when giving, the left hand shouldn’t know what the right hand is doing. (Matthew 6:3)
Tithing is expected of you. (Luke 11:42) You aren’t doing God any favors. God doesn’t even get the money.
