[[Free will giving according to the New Testament is great, but Christians should be good stewards with their giving, which means NOT giving to hucksters, hireling pastors, false teachers and bad shepherds like Perry Noble.]]
Exactly
If you are a Christian (and by that I mean a blood bought believer) you should
... run far away from churches who have hireling pastors.
Hireling don’t belong to the flock ... run
... run far away from churches who do not preach the gospel as given to us in the bible (social gospel ,prosperity , kingdom now , and countless others)don’t look back , don’t stay and try to fix it just get out asap because that church is not part of the church and that pastor is a hireling.
No christian should hand one penny to any church with a hireling in the pulpit or any church preaching any other gospel BECAUSE all you are doing is helping the enemy cause confusion ... run and don’t look back and don’t give till you find a church that is biblical
Participants sign up with a commitment to give 10 percent of their income or more, and if God doesnt hold true to his promises of blessings after three months, they can request their money back
You know, I kind of don't care if it works that way, or not.
Well said and totally Scriptural, Lera.
“Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.”—2 Cor. 9:7
Amen!
Rod Parsley is another one (in fact, he sometimes has Mike Murdock on his show to help him fleece the viewers.) Parsley's pitch is basically: "God wants to bless you, but he can't do it until you send me your $300.00 Faith Seed, and the check clears." Until I started watching Rod Parsley, I did not know that God accepts Visa and Master Card.
Amen
And when Christians give cheerfully they usually end up doing the 10% or more anyway when they can .
There’s a special place in the Lake of Fire reserved for ol’ Joel and his precious little wife IMHO.
Of course God gets the money, if you sow it into good ministries where souls are being saved, wounds being healed, hungry being fed, etc. Actually, the tithe WAS technically for the OT. In the Age of Grace, 10% is just the starting point. Apostle Paul said to give over and above, according how the Lord has prospered us, and as to how grateful we are; but anything less than 10% is robbing God.
One last time: God; the Lord Jesus Christ, Second Person of the Trinity, is the One who INVITED us to work the system of seed time and harvest. Luke 6:38 is a fine example of how the tithe works. Everything on earth operates on the principle of seed time and harvest, including making babies.
The gospels clearly spell it out for those who are teachable. The Gospel of Luke makes it real plain.
To the UNteachable, there is only Revelation chapter 22 to look forward to. We can throw our weight around and argue and rebut, if that’s our choice. But the instant we close our eyes for the last time, all that huffing and puffing bravado comes to a screeching halt. At THAT point the only thing that matters is, Did you believe God’s instructions; and did you OBEY them. There IS a record being kept. And some day soon, each of us will be confronted by OUR OWN record.
Have a nice forever.
“Paying God” to get a blessing is blasphemy. Even expecting a blessing is blasphemy. Ananias and Sapphira gave money and were killed for it.(Acts 5) If you get a blessing, it’s because God wants to do it. Be thankful, not expectant.
Luke 6:38 doesn’t mention tithing. It’s about judging.
Here’s a thought. God isn’t the Tooth Fairy. You don’t put a tithe under your pillow and wake up to find a blessing. Giving is expected, not rewarded.
The ONLY record is whether you are Saved. Levels of Heaven is a Mormon thing.
I used to go to a church that preached the prosperity doctrine and also went to their convention. A bunch of preachers got on the stage and started one by one showing off their suits and telling people what they paid for them. I thought it was in bad taste but different strokes for different folks. I only went to the church because the owners of a business I worked for really wanted me to go.
There were a lot of things said that I did not agree with and then one day came the final straw. The preacher got up and said you can demand your donations back from God any time with interest. That was it for me. Later my bosses finally figured it out and quit. They and their extended family were the biggest contributors to the church. I don’t know if they are still in business or not but I am sure they miss that money.
No No No. John 3:16-18. You do believe that right?
Parsley is a giant phony. I have actually changed my mind on Bakker. He is an entrepreneur but I do believe he loves and accepts Jesus.( everyone has to eat).
A great guy , who doesn’t ask for money — is Rodney Howard Browne. He is a “Hitter” for Christ and his lovely wife. He is an African American.
A great doctrine guy in Andrew Wommack ( Vietnam Vet! originally from Ft Worth now Colorado Springs)
But here is my guy. Darrell Dumas , Touching Hands Ministry. He is of Meridian , Mississippi. This man is a diamond in the rough. If you never heard this man , google him and play one archive. Yes, you will be entertained. yes he is rough. Yes, he is real and Yes he is right!
Acts 5 clearly states that A & S were killed for lying to the Holy Spirit.
